The problem is that Christians are literally waiting for their god to come and murder billions of people for worshiping the wrong religion. Muslims and Jews are waiting for their version to do the same thing to the Christians. That's why those throwbacks from the ancient world won't help humanity build a sustainable future. It's also why they seek out the most obviously dishonest people they can find to lead them. I mean, no honest politician or pundit can give them what they want. Their story has to end with mass death and destruction or life on Earth has been a pointless waste of time since the beginning.

@SeekingWisdom492 күн бұрын
I like the reference to Boethius 🙂. The book analyses are done using AI but with my guidance and oversight since AI does occasionally get things wrong. The appropriate rhetorical analysis methodology is adapted to each book genre and subject and is quite thorough. Another nice thing about AI, IMO, is that it does not introduce any bias into the analysis. The authors' biases may be introduced and discussed but unlike an analysis done by me or any other human, it is virtually impossible to eliminate personal likes and dislikes and other biases. The voices are also AI-generated.

What a sister ... no wonder she's outside the window. Maybe DJT was the golden child, and MLT was the scapegoat. Trump doesn't drink or smoke. And Trump doesn't speak horribly about their parents at all. I wonder about Mary, but not all that much. She didn't have the drive to reach heights he did. Will stick with DJT. He has quite an interesting natal chart. I think it was his natal Jup/Venus conjunction that swung around again as he won, in current transits, and to remain for the next 4 years. They can't really beat him down, try as they so do. Trump's wife looks great. If he were truly narcissistic, she just wouldn't no matter the funds available to her. Everyone loved Trump, until he ran for Pres. He speaks his reality in. He increased his wealth by 3.5 BL this last year. It's now at 6.1 BL. His family does well, in business and charitable. You never see his kids running amuck, doing drugs, doing in-laws, or needing rehab programs. They all give millions to charity, including St. Jude. That says a lot for and about Trump. I don't listen to what the Libs say he does, I look at what he actually does. The two views do not equate. I can't buy into the S. Daniels crap. Like H would Trump go after THAT, when his wife is as she is. The stripper saw an opportunity to create a story that would bring her funds, she's not interested in honestly earning them. Trump wouldn't risk his empire for that. The left would pull him down anyway they could, at any cost as they have a lot of pillaging to further do, that they can't exactly do, if not at the helm. I'm happy he won. I'm happy mainstream lefty media networks have fallen to 61% and 52%. I don't even watch Fox, or TV, at all, but Fox is number 1 the last 9 years straight. True numbers don't lie. It'd no real surprise Trump won after the last 4 declining years by something like 5ML votes. KH and her 20 ML in debt campaign bill when she had 1.3 BL to begin with is absurd. 20.8 ML spent of 5 entertainers ... for their paid for support. Trump only had like 381ML and only spent 10 ML on staff. KH spent nearly 600ML on staff. Trump had nearly 36 ML left over. Don't people want someone that have some sense of money handling ability, running this country? Even better yet, Trump knows how to negociate and generate funds for this country. The left leaders never even did, nor tried. Cry me a river - Trump won. Let's see what wrenches the left are going to further throw bc we all know they aren't going to sit quietly and let Trump have his turn. They didn't before. In fact they spent every waking moment trying to remove him, and they got no real work done. I still recall Pelosi ripping up his papers behind his back. What a piece of work that 'christian' and her nephew Newsom are. And Trump won 10 counties in CA for 40% of the state. The blue is only a narrow strip coastal length, the very bottom of CA. and a short narrow strip of the elbow area. And people think CA is dem only land. Lol. Not after the last 4. And they can thank selves for it. Go Trump! I CANNOT WAIT! Up to 21 ML they say strolled in through the open borders. 21 ML better find a bag to pack - they're not staying. We cannot afford you. Come in the right way next time, or stay gone.

Adam Smith wrote "read, write and ACCOUNT" multiple times. He used the word 'education' EIGHTY Times. His use of the "Invisible Hand" can be counted on ONE FINGER. Is it Really Capitalism without mandatory accounting? Haven't economists figured that out? Oh, they don't use that Smith quote!
@SeekingWisdom493 күн бұрын
Very true. In fact, Smith was discussing how individuals, by pursuing their own interests, often unintentionally promote the good of society. He did not use it as a sweeping endorsement of free-market capitalism or as an argument against government intervention. The concept gained prominence in the mid-to-late 20th century, particularly through the work of economists associated with the Chicago School, such as Milton Friedman.

It said that "Hayek main goal was to warm Socialist inteligencia." That is utter nonsense. Hayek also said that he doubted if Keynes even read the book. Which would make sense because Keynes was really sick at the time when he was steaming over to attend the Bretton Woods conference and was supposed to have read it. If he did read it he missed the warning. Hayek was not an Anarchist, he warms about the slippery slope of any regulation causing inflation and tyranny. But he also did not abandon von Mises, who is pretty clear about the effects of Socialism on society.

Carl Sagan's Sagan’s book "The Dragons of Eden" predates McGilchrist’s work, although both authors explore themes related to brain hemispheres and their functions. While Jaynes focused on the origin of human consciousness through an interdisciplinary analysis of historical and psychological evidence, Sagan dedicated his career to advancing our knowledge of the universe and popularizing science, with both scholars leaving lasting legacies in their fields despite proposing some controversial ideas. I've been an idealist most of my life, believing that our constitution is worth defending for the ideals it proposes. But I've also experienced periods of deep skepticism about the practicability of ever achieving those ideals. Because it appears to me as if the incoming administration is exploiting the very powers the constitution provides to actually undermine it, the hope I had for this country has turned to cynicism. We should all be worried about the future of the system of justice that we hail as the cornerstone of our exceptionalism. It's been through a lot, but I'm not confident it can survive much longer.
