It's not really controversial, it's just what it stands for and how it presents itself that is causing the problem. Ignoring the story, the combat is repetitive and boring where you are repeating the same content and the progression slowly becomes harder and harder to stay engaged in and so watered down. They are also targeting an audience of players who come from prior Dragon Age games. This was simply not what they wanted it to be. Had they made this game under a different IP and marketed towards it's intended audience it likely would have had better perception. The story however, makes me hate it. Every moment of the game feels like it is talking down to me, getting angry at me for not adhering to it's strange moral constructs. Meta critic is sold out garbage. you said you haven't tried it yet. I am curious to hear a follow up review after you have.

I'm so tired of open worlds without any life in them. LOZ:TOTK/BOTW are beautiful games with amazing stories but the actual world design is ridiculous. It's to big and to empty. Huge areas of just open world with little interaction aside from walking through and enjoying the visuals and environment or collecting craftables for food. The same repetitive tasks are found through all these style of games. Walk here to this outpost/camp where you get a fetch quest which requires you to walk or run 30 minutes across a map to then quick travel back to the same outpost. Fetch quests/ Clear outposts/ Deliver item/ Fetch NPC/ Build this/ Craft this/ Generic NPCs/ Collect Craftable. I'm so tired of empty worlds and poorly written side quests that don't build any small lore and NPCs that have no personality. Nothing wrong with an on rails experience that has rich world/lore building. NPCs that have character and are small but strong pillars for character side stories and world support are an advantage of the on rail games. The fatigue I get from open worlds now is ridiculous.

I'm of two minds on this. I like open worlds with purpose of some sort - I feel this if I go back to Morrowind or Gothic II and I feel this in modern titles like Elden Ring or Breath of the Wild. I dislike it if the open world is designed as a time munching checklist full of boring "activities" one might assign to an annoying child to keep them busy. I feel this in most ubisoft open worlds, and, for that matter, most open worlds designed after the success of Skyrim. Not all, but I feel comfortable saying most. Thanks for the video, good luck with your channel. o7

I think it depends on what angle they take, I guess that using Yasuke as a playable character makes sense because they can tell a story that is more fiction than fact. Nevertheless I like it. But that also depends on how the story they give him is portrayed.

Adversity and I may as well be familiar rivals; the person I am now has been formed through intense trials and tribulations, sometimes mercilessly striking through one heart-breaking or potentially traumatic event in succession. I did not, however, entirely break down -- some aspect of my soul refused to bow down and let myself be trampled upon and let my hopes be crushed. A part of myself that I don't fully understand, even as a youth, stubbornly resists despair and spiritual pain and damage, and burns with a flame of eternal tenacity and optimism. These days, after so much adversity, I have only to think back to earlier times when it seems antagonistic forces of the world around me are relentless, see in memory how I chose to fight back and to be absolute in the maverick spirit I was then and am now, and recall victories that seemed to come out of nowhere that defied what was previously thought to be possible. If I, with help from others, or alone, overcame when it was thought to be inconceivable, then in the present, I can choose to pierce through whatever stands in my way to triumph once more.

Can't wait for this game as well. Although i need to point out that front/back row gameplay is nothing new to rpg. It was there in 80/90s dungeon crawler crpgs. You find it in many jrpg including persona 1, SMT, DDS, FF2-FF9, breath of fire, etrian odyssey, suikoden, ogre battle and more recently unicorn overlord. Not all of them are turn based and equal in execution, but the concept is similar. Metaphor's demo did show signs of row having more importance in one of the fights which i hope is not a one time oddity. I also doubt that louis is the final antagonist. Maybe just the main antagonist for the first 1/3 or 1/2 of the game.

Batman has advantages that most of us don't have. Batman came from money. He has unlimited funds to his advantage. He could afford the best training across the entire world, something most of us could never do. His ideas of justice come from darkness. He was created that way as rhe opposite of Superman. He is meant to instill fear not hope. Superman is the one who stands for hope. Superman shows us how mankind should be as a guiding light of morality. Spider-Man is the best hero of all time in my opinion. The fact that Peter learned the hard way that his powers come at a cost. When he was selfish with his powers, it cost his uncle his life. Peter never asked for the burden that he carrier, but he carriers it despite wanting to give it up multiple times. He knows the consequences. He sacrifices his happiness, his ambitions, his academics, and more as he lives up to the responsibility. Bruce became Batman at 8 years old because of vengence, and that is what sticks with him.

I just finished my playthrough last night, and I think it is an incredible game overall, but I agree that some of the bosses are frustrating as hell. I think the gameplay in between bosses is quite easy, but then the bosses make up for it and sometimes they overcompensate. It was surprising how much of the game is optional. You can make it through the game while not knowing half of it existed. These developers are the only ones who can stand toe-to-toe with Fromsoft in terms of boss animations and move sets, with Lies of P being a close second. I hope they release DLC for it.

@SenzuYT Ай бұрын
Okay so when i say artificial difficulty, think of it as the game intentionally not being responsive to your input that makes it harder. It's a fast paced souls like game so you need your inputs to be super responsive or else you're always going to lose.

@@lordofearthishere an example is pressing the dodge button doesn’t always initiate the dodge until some seconds after during a fight. Since the Soulsborne games are RPGs, you can often "over level" yourself to make something much easier. Grinding currency, exploring as much as possible to have more heals / mana, leveling up your HP so you don't die in one or two hits, etc. Remember that you don't need to kill everything. It is often better to just find the next bonfire (grace, lamp) and farm enemies close to the bonfire rather than slogging through all the enemies and finding yourself out of HP and mana going into a boss fight. Separate the idea of making "money / XP" and progressing the main story / game, which generally requires beating a boss at each step. Most of the Souls games are pretty open after an initial boss or two, except for the hub system of Demon's Souls which has a boss gate between each section of each world. That means you can collect a tremendous amount of stuff before engaging most enemies and bosses. Elden Ring took this to an extreme, so you can have almost the maximum amount of flasks and a tremendous amount of items before you even engage a boss after the initial tutorial one. Still, you will die and sometimes you will lose a lot of currency and that is a hump to get over. However, embracing death and having no currency to lose is great for exploring with no negative consequences. As an extreme example, you can collect the Erdtree's Favor +1 from the chest in the Mohg, the Omen boss room after you make your way into Leyndell Royal Capital. You don't need to kill any bosses or enemies, you just run between Graces, activating them and working your way down. And yes, you can get into the capital without beating any other boss other than the one guarding the gate and that can be done without really fighting him yourself, but I won't detail that here. If you have a hard bit, then use the multiplayer. Whether you summon other players or NPCs, for most fights, simply having a distraction for a boss or getting through a tough zone makes all the difference. Ultimately, the Souls games reputation is misleading. The truly hard games are ones that have some mechanic that either you can do or you can't beat the game because there are no alternative methods to make it easier. Sekiro, since it is single-player and relies on a basic rhythm style of combat is not a Souls RPG and that is why it is the hardest of the FromSoftware non-Mech games. Even in normal games, there is often an end boss, gauntlet or other sequence, sometimes that ignores a lot of what you learned and used previously in the game, just to make beating the game artificially longer and harder. Souls doesn't do that, so there's always a solution even if you don't GIT GUD.

For me the most important rule is your third one, recognize that the game you're playing wants and often expects you to use the tools it provides If you can't get past this you'll end up sounding like so many who insist the DLC (or malenia, or pre patch radahn) is too hard but don't use consumables or summons, you might also be the type to complain about a late game difficulty spike
