Hi there. My doctor prescribed me progesterone I sleep horribly and I’m on day 4 on progesterone. I slept a few nights of good sleep but last night was horrible. Only 2 hours of sleep. Today she prescribed estrogel. Can I take it at the same time or should I do estrogel in the morning and progesterone at night? She also wants to keep me on Premarin twice a week 0.5 for vaginal dryness. I’d love suggestions of when I should be taking everything and I did ask for something other than Premarin and she said no she wanted me to stick with it because she felt it was good for me and she had other patients on it. I do take magnesium with Vitamin D and K2 at night. As well as l theanine. I am just desperate to sleep through the night and also for the final dryness and itchy to end.

I don't go outside in summer! I live in south central Texas in a Houston-esque climate. At 6:00 PM it's 104 in the shade, 111 with the heat index. At 6:00 AM it's about 85, 95+ with the heat index. 😵 Heat stroke isn't healthy. 😂 I've always had issues with breakfast. I'm allergic to eggs. 😮 I've started thyroid medicine, so I'm not supposed to have high calcium foods for 3 hours after. 😬 There goes dairy, my fave alternate protein. I'm going to have to work at a savory breakfast. I know the traditional Japanese breakfast is salmon, rice and miso soup with green tea. 🤔 As a beekeeper, I strongly recommend honey if you must have a touch of sweet. Far, far better than anything artificial. Nature's natural sweetener. 👍

At 38:45 the woman on the right said the WHI had two groups, one group was estrogen only, and the other group was estrogen and progesterone. That is INCORRECT. In fact, it was estrogen and progestin NOT progesterone which is very different from progesterone. That woman on the right misstated this very important distinction, which is quite concerning given she’s talking about women’s health. I surely hope that she’s not the doctor. Not to know the difference between progestin, which is cancer-causing and progesterone, which is not cancer-causing and is a hormone that is found in the human body is quite concerning. Progestin is never found in the human body. The fact that she does not make that distinction is a red flag to me.

Interesting that testosterone for women is not mentioned until the end. Normally, testosterone is the highest level of hormone in women, and above the estrogen level. Testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone work together in tandem. I exercise 3-5 times weekly at the gym, and testosterone is imperative. If you're no longer interested in sex and orgasm, then you need testosterone as well for libido, energy, decreased depression and anxiety, higher muscle mass and bone density, and improved skin. I love my pellets. They are worth every penny. I keep up with my A1C and lipids and get a regular hormone panel. The dosage has to do with the relief of symptoms minus any side effects. We are NOT all the same needing the same hormone dosage. Yes, I feel 100% better than the 30 years of HRT protective benefits that I missed due to the now-debunked WHI study. You are never too old for HRT!

I’ve been on hormones since my late 20s for a medical condition and I’m now nearly 50. I can tell you the information shared here is NOT accurate. Synthetic and natural estrogen are not the same molecule and don’t work exactly the same in the body. Progestins are also not the same as natural progesterone. Progesterone is needed for much more than just the lining of the uterus. It is responsible for many functions ranging from neurotransmitter modulation to bone remodeling. If you can afford it ask for the natural form of these molecules and insist on getting progesterone even if your uterus has been removed.

Well that wouldbe fun, having (fake) "periods" again, wouldn't it?! NOPE to fake hormones for most women. Oral or otherwise, except for short-term use during peri-menopause and shortly after. My symptoms disappeared on their own by a few years after my last period.

It is outrageous what I am seeing from doctors right now. And these two are not the only ones, that Dr. Haver also pushes cancer-causing options such as the marina coil which has progestin in it. An informed woman knows progesterone is much different than progestin and that progestin causes cancer which has been well known for decades yet you have these two as well as Dr. Haver suggesting it as an option.

I learned about progesterone intolerance on the Menopause Matters forum. I really wanted to love it, and I do love my estradiol. I have a uterus, so a progestogen is required to oppose. But progesterone made me miserable with all the side effects. I tried every variation and dose that is approved for endometrial protection. I am grateful that there are other options because I really need my estradiol. Progestins are still safe with just a slightly higher risk profile. As we know, the WHI was misreported. And there are several progestin options including the Mirena IUD and combined patches.

@@sunnysal3889 I assume you know this already, so I am merely providing this information to those reading these notes and comments. Progestin is well known to cause breast cancer. Progesterone is known to protect against breast cancer. These are hard facts. And if you have a doctor, that is not providing you with all of this information, it would be a good idea to go and find a better doctor who has your good health in mind and will tell you all of the risks associated with progestins. I am so sorry that your body rejected the progesterone and as you noted you tried different dosages but I wonder did they all come from a compounding pharmacy? Did you try the I’m assuming you tried micronized progesterone in a capsule as well as did you try progesterone in a transdermal cream and did you try progesterone as sublingual drops? Also, consider how the progesterone is prepared. It’s in a base, sometimes it’s olive oil sometimes it’s peanut oil, sometimes it’s a cream type of base. The base could have been the problem for you.

Question...I read the book "Estrogen Matters" by Avrum Bluming and Carol Tavris MD, and this book points to Premarin versus bioidentical hormone as the best choice for HRT. However, Premarin does not seem to be talked about anymore when it comes to estrogen replacement. I'm now confused - I agree on the comment about bioidentical hrt being a marketing term. It doesn't seem like anyone is saying - other than this book - that Premarin should be considered. I'm wondering if you have an opinion about Premarin (pill) versus Bioidentical estrogen.

I just had a total hysterectomy 6 weeks ago and no longer have cervix, uterus, or ovaries. Without a cervix, can we use the vaginal ring? I am 57 and had post menopausal bleeding. I had hyperplasia complex with atypical cells and that's why I needed the hysterectomy. My labs afterwards came back that I had some precancerous cells but no cancer. I have type 2 diabetes and take Mounjaro. I am having hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, vaginal dryness, and vaginal atrophy. My gynocologist had me check my veins and I had a leg ultrasound and showed no blood clots, but some hidden varicose veins. My legs are very chubby and I was diagnosed with lipodema. My gynecologist is on vacation and I am researching my hormone replacement options. I have heard good things about the vaginal ring but not sure if that is an option for me since I dont have a cervix. I am also considering trying a pea sized bit of testosterone. A tiny bit of testosterone and either vaginal estergen cream or a vaginal ring. What are your thoughts?

I wish every woman would be required to watch videos from this doctor. After 1 year of chronic U, T, I's, I finally told my G.P. "This is not a UTI anymore." She not once suggested this was a hormone problem.I had to go around on my own looking for a female Doctor and not even a Doctor she was a F.N.P but she was the one that gave me the necessary cream. I feel almost human again after one year of suffering. SHAME ON MY G.P. I am a 71 year old woman, that should have been a clue hormones were involved.
