39:00 I'm gonna disagree here, I don't think laird has been good at all this season and he has now proven that he is a problem to the club culture. If the club is smart,they would trade him now, buy they're not, so well lose rachelle instead and probably finish last next season.

my thoughts ( i havent even started the video yet): 1. smith's writing is on the wall playing sanfl, but i wish the club would just announce it and give him a farewell. dont like it when clubs wait until season review to tell players they arent coming back and not give the fans a proper send off. same as walker, make the call whether he's coming back or not before the season finishes so we can celebrate it. we have nothing to play for so make it about the players. 2. laird can fuck right off, and not just for throwing rachele under the bus, i've been saying this for weeks now. 2 months ago i would have said get rid of crouch, but i think crouch has improved his game since. laird has not. laird can't play midfield anymore. his stats across the board are down this year compared to the last 4 years. his on-field attitude stinks (watch him closely - always throwing his hands up when he doesn't get a pass, acts selfishly etc). yes, his clearance work is up there however he does nothing with it, he is not a brownlow contender, he does not break packs and go forward to kick goals (2 for the season this year, dowling has 4 in his 8 games). now you can say 'thats not his role', well it should be EVERY player's role to take the game on. you cant have 3-4 matchwinners and 18 passengers. he's a stat padder and doesnt actually offer us anything. we can't go into next year playing crouch, dawson, laird and keays in the midfield again. move keays up forward, trade laird or send him to defence, and bring in fresh (and bigger) players like curtin and dowling while rotating rankine and soligo. we cannot have the second shortest guy on the list in the midfield, he cant take pack marks or influence the game the way someone like dawson can. he doesnt run the overlap the way a soligo or a rankine does. unfortunately he is contracted for another 2 years so it will be hard to force him out, but i hope the club grow a pair and do it. his attitude has become toxic, malcolm blight would get him out. sam berry can play his role otherwise dowling can be the spare midfielder. 3. rachele did nothing wrong, except backing out of 1 contest. i hate that he does it, but he's 21, only a 3rd year player. he'll get it out of his system. give him another preseason to put some size on so he has confidence in himself to hit those contests. he should also wear a mouthguard, i was surprised to find out he doesnt. it will help him mentally if he has doubts going into contests. rachele cops enough backlash from the media and online for pulling out of contests, and now his own team mate has gone on air to call him out as well. then the club has dropped him. thats weak. someone needs to be in his corner to help him and the club should have just told him monday morning 'work on it during the week' and backed him in to do better. and im fucked off that laird of all people was one to make those comments considering he only had 6 contested possessions and 3 tackles himself, so he was actually shirking the hard contests as well but wont cop anything for it. part of me wishes rachele would ask for a trade and go somewhere they will treat him better just to send a message to the club, but i know that option hurts the list and makes us look like more fools for wasting high end draft picks again. 4. the club has no backbone. they never have. im tired of being the 'nice guy' club always trying to appease members and stakeholders. enough. everyone from the top down needs to drink a cup of cement and start acting like a professional sports club who dont take shit from anyone. i want us to have the hawks 2013-2015 attitude. i want the club to outright ban players from going on the radio and opening themselves up for ridicule until they start winning games and making finals. i want the club to stop playing favourites and start cutting the deadwood. the only reason they play some of these guys is because they arent a destination club to target players we NEED who can replace them and propel us forward. we will waste dawson's prime years, just watch. and while im at it, i swear to god i do not want to see the club target another 30 year old with a 4 year contract on $1m like elliot yeo again. 30 year olds are not the future and they need to get with the program. if they're going to throw $1m at someone, go and get lukosius and build him into the tom lynch HF role.

Real talk though, we need to bloody get rid of Laird, this is an absolute joke mate. He is absolutely killing our club at the moment.
