It's being paved 2 weeks after it opens. Didn't you get the memo?

Why are the fences being put up around them? Wouldn't it make more sense to allow people to use it as a public space?

Also, what happened to the Eastern Frame/Avon River Precinct plan? 65 days from Jan 7 was this past Wednesday. Is it delayed or just not being released to the public? Gerry? Roger? Anybody?

When is New Regent St. being repaved? I drive by there almost every day and there's a pallet of pavers sitting there that have been sitting there like that for at least 5 weeks I believe. It seems like nothing's happening.

This is going to be awesome and inspiring to the rest of the world. The past is the past and we have museums and historic files for that, we have been through so much this all new Christchurch is wonderful. Well done!!

@adenshillito Oh, you are so well informed about the Anglican Church. So all the money they said they spent on strengthening it wasn’t true. What about the Catholic Cathedral. I guess you will throw them into the same pot. I did not know they had decided on a new style yet. I think it is up to the church people decide what they build.

The Anglican has a damaged church that has always cost stupid money while secular people criticize the church for having too much money tied up in building. It is the ongoing costs for this little by world standards cathedral.

omg omg omg!!! I grew up here from 5 till about 25. Untill I saw this it did not sink in how bad it was.So much of what I remember gone. Is De Larno's magic shop still there? That is a pivot point of my childhood. I support the rebuild plans and think a low rise cbd will be a great strategy for the future.

Thankyou for posting. It's amazing to see that almost every place of significance that I went to in the CBD before I left is now gone. It's awesome to see places like Alice in wonderland still going. It will be interested to see what it all looks like when I next visit a year from now.

From an ex-chch boy living in London, it's so sad to see my hometown like this. I didn't watch it til now, cos the last memories i have was being back 2 years ago. It's almost unrecognizable...thanks to all those working in the CBD to make it better.
