A lot of politics is about cherry picking rather than looking at data as a whole. Nancy Pelosi is right that Donald Trump does have the worst job performance by the numbers, but… looking at the larger picture, there was a global pandemic in which all of the world had a spike in employment. But… looking at the even larger picture, the United States did generally have a higher spike in unemployment during the pandemic compared to the rest of the world, with unemployment spiking much more dramatically that global rates of unemployment at the time. Now, the causes of this can be argued but generally I think we all need to look at data from a larger outside perspective. We often come into data with a bias, causing us to only view part of the whole picture. In this case, I would make the argument that BOTH Nancy Pelosi’s and the Interviewer’s facts do not address the larger picture of the data.
