It is absolutely mind blowing that we have come so far in medicine and technology that we can make Jetson type cars but childbirth is scary and traumatising. As a woman, with two children, it should be a vow for all of us women to make sure, that all women no matter what we look like or where we are from, experience the wonders not the worries of delivery. I’ve heard so many sad stories about from black women about childbirth. I have a plan in place for a home birth and also having a midwife.

You are truly planting seeds of wisdom and empowering black expectant mothers to care for themselves as naturally as possible and in doing so they are empowered to advocate for themselves. This matters greatly in decreasing the mortality in black women and babies. Say it loud good people!!

I think I found my next journey. I've always wanted to do this and now might be the time!

Pregnancy in itself is already so hard and for black women or women of color it’s even tougher. I’m so afraid to deal with pregnancy, bringing this awareness will help so many.

I wish all women were able to receive this kind of care! Childbirth is a life changing experience, and having the right team by your side can be the difference between life or death. I hope i have a supportive group by my side when its my turn.

I'm a mom of five and due to lack of knowledge, I didn't really get as much prenatal care as I needed. Thankfully all of my sons are healthy but I encourage new moms to seek information on all birthing options.

This is inspiring. I can relate to the first young woman with such a similar story as my first birthing experience. But watching this video made my heart skip a beat and literally has me thinking about how it’s not too late to follow my passion.

This solidifies that I need to start my journey becoming a doula.
