I think that I’ve seen this video several times and it keeps getting better. I love the fashion breakdown of Natasha Naginsky’s wardrobe. I find her style to be classy, elegant, and beautiful. And she is as well. My personal favorite outfit is the pink jumpsuit she wore at the restaurant she saw Carrie and her friends at before leaving due to rightfully not wanting to be in the same room as Carrie. She looked chic and gorgeous. I even loved the way her hair and makeup looked. I think that this was showing Carrie that Natasha is more than meets the eye. She is not boring like Carrie thought. The scene where Carrie stalks Natasha to the restaurant where she (Natasha) was waiting for her lunch date and wearing the pink dress further shows that. Carrie realized how wrong she was about Natasha, and how she’ll never be like Natasha. Natasha deserved so much better. She was way too good for Big. She was way more mature, classy, and stable than Big and Carrie. She AND Aiden didn’t deserve the betrayal they inflicted upon them. Yes, this video reinforces why I ultimately never liked “Sex and the City”. Don’t get me wrong. I like the concept of the show. But, the problem is that the main character, Carrie Bradshaw, is extremely selfish, unlikable, uncouth, and toxic. I’m not saying that she has to be perfect or without any flaws. I’m saying that she is the kind of character that constantly makes irrational and horrible choices, and doesn’t truly care about other people’s feelings. No woman in her right mind and who has any decency should be like her.

This is a very inapt statement but I see Charlotte and Natasha being good friends let alone best friends because they’re somewhat alike. Same social class, similar morals and similar styles even I would say.

What Carries and any woman who feels like her is to emulate not copy. There is something broken and wrong with Carrie but she doesn’t want to change any of that because she thinks she’s good enough. Clearly that’s not true. Carries could be a little more thoughtful, reserved, and change her wardrobe a little bit without having to change her whole identity.

13:46 She's laughing at spelling mistake made by Natasha in the letter, but in another episode she thinks that 400$ x 100 =4000 for shoes 😂😂😂 Miranda told her it is 40 000 $ and then Carrie realized she has no place to live 😮 Moreover, instead of living her life she can't leave Big and Natasha. She cheats with Big and she stalks Natasha 🤯

I think it’s funny how Carrie thinks of Natasha as this scary, cold woman, but in every interaction they have (before the affair) Natasha is nothing but polite. Even post-affair, she carries herself with class and restraint when she sees Carrie in public. Rewatching the show, I realize how sad and cynical it often is- about love and relationships between women. I know the show is praised for showing the power of “female friendships,” but all I saw were the main characters being mistrustful and spiteful toward women outside of their group. It was catty, high school behavior. I don’t find it aspirational. But oh- it can be interesting to dissect the characters’ disfunction.

Yeah the whole heartbreak thing with binge eating. I've done that. Not sure if it has anything to do with subconsciously watching stuff like that on TV. It's just the urge I got at times. I've have gone through extreme bouts of non-stop eating, to no appetite and no hunger. So it would either be a Non-Stop eating bottomless pit and/or then just be living life like a snake like I'm not even supposed to be eating for a whole other month, except it's an empty stomach and I don't feel the hunger.

My 2 cents; Carrie is actually the pretty boring one. And it's probably why Big didn't marry her until he needed a hospice wife. Carrie makes her sex life her entire personality. Everything from her writing to her wardrobe to her conversations revolves around who she's dating, not dating, about to date, thinking about dating, or who her dates are dating. Outside of that, she has nothing else to bring to the table. At the time of the show, she's a grown woman in her 30s who can't even manage her money and is looking for a rich guy to rescue her from herself. In contrast, Natasha is a woman who, despite her age, can hold a conversation with the upper class. She has her own talent, style, and is self-sufficient even if she was born to money. She doesn't need John at all. So if she fell in love with him, it's because she actually loves him, not because she's looking for a white knight. She had a full life before him, which had nothing to do with her sex life, and she went on to have a full life long after he left. Her quiet confidence actually makes her intriguing. Carrie's immaturity may be fun in bed, but will immediately disqualify her as a real wife, especially for an upper-class man who have to carefully vet who they're going to share their money, and build their legacy with.

Unlike the rest of the comments, I do think Natasha is boring. The “classic, chic, effortless” crap is so overrated. I do think she was insecure about Carrie because she knew Big was being unfaithful. She just had the “grin and bear it” personality. I don’t like Carrie either, I think she had no self respect when it came to Big. Her style is very chaotic and even when she tried to dress chic it didn’t suit her. Another video blamed her daddy issues which makes sense, because Big never treated her like his equal.

Finally someone assessed this observation well enough to infer the over-lining context of Carrie to Natasha than what Natasha was to Carrie. It’s pretty obvious that Careie delt with being a journalist to a magazine editing site for years into her career before she had made it big, and she didn’t get the recognition she got into she had met Big, which jump start her ability to want to prove herself, because she was in the New York space and had been long time friends with the girls with. She didn’t not only come from money, but she had brains and she was deeply educated, as weak as have the privilege to have friends and be herself. Natasha, on the other hand, looks like she has it all, even though she is from a well privileged background ground, she was with Big for a short time before she had divorced him and had remarried, soon after the cheating scandal. So, the thing was, Natasha was envious that Carrie had personality and charisma, while she didn’t, and she had checked every box in Big’s mother’s room for him to wed her and not Carrie, but she felt that she could never truly match up to her, because she’s on the introverted side, which I’ll never understand why people take these things too seriously when they account for these character analysis and self improvement videos. She wasn’t open, and to be frank, she feared actually confidence, despite knowing her worth. She had the ability to stay calm and be honest about her own needs, because she was taught that, but she went in to rush after Carrie, despite not confronting Big about it and/or not evaluating how she’d be hurt from chasing after the spectacle of the adultery right in front of her eyes. People assume that anyone has confidence just because you stand your ground much or have someone rent free in your head wanting what you want, but that’s not the case, since she didn’t either, and knew about the affair and why she chased Carrie, too, because it did upset her and she had no voice to express it and have been keeping it a secret. If she known about it, why chase her or better yet, why not track her in her lies and her husband’s to have done so better? She even expressed how she knew she’d be cheated on, because she was never her husband’s true love, and the reason why he placed her in his wills was because she was marriage approval to the family, and not exactly his type, even though he had taught of her. I have heard countless stories of these contexts, and each gets it wrong, because if a man actually wanted this type of woman as a type, and even if he was childish to not have recognized it, he wouldn’t simply write off who to add to the will, especially not her or Carrie, but since Natasha was more worthy of her lineage, it had to be here. He never cared or loved her, and it was never about his interest to cheat on her with Carrie, because he saw himself de-valuable from his wife, Natasha, to do that, as men do that out of insecurity and disrespect for the woman their wife, but because he liked Carrie, and Carrie wasn’t okay with being the side piece or the mistress. She wanted what both Big and Natasha had and wanted to be with Big, while Natasha felt inferior to the whole thing and wanted peace from it the best way she knew how, by the training she had and from actual experience she wasn’t prepared for.

Big never lied about who he is. He made it clear to Carrie the she want wife material in his world. Natasha fit the bill perfectly. She understood his world, the role that a wife plays in that social set, and what Big needed from her. Carrie kept denying that, believing that she was going to be the exception to the rule.. she just wasn’t taking the hints.
@Vydio23 күн бұрын
Problem was, once he got the woman who fit the bill perfectly, he didn't want her. He could not tolerate the idea of someone else being with Carrie. I never understood this ... I do not want you but I do not want anyone else to have you. He should have been happy for Carrie to have found Aidan.

Love how you mentioned their MBTIs . Makes sense Natasha is an ISTJ, the reverse of Carrie, who is an ENFP. they both use the same cognitive functions but in the exact opposite direction, so to say. It was always strange to me how Carrie felt threatened by Natasha and less than because Carrie looked stunning and had a super fun and fashionable and outrageous sense of style. I could never ever rock any of her outfits. She wore them flawlessly. Never understood her need to compete with Natasha because she was her own fabulous damn self! 13:25 Carrie is wearing white, and it literally washes her out. Idk if this outfit was intentional to the scene or not, but it's so painfully obvious that she can't be and shouldn't even want to be like Natasha🥲
