You got the year wrong - that's a pretty imporatnt detail. "Kuwait Airways Flight 422 was a Boeing 747 jumbo jet hijacked en route from Bangkok, Thailand, to Kuwait City, Kuwait on 5 April 1988, leading to a hostage crisis that lasted 16 days and encompassed three continents."

Players retired either when they won their first Joker's Jackpot(early in CBS run) or were retired at $25K on the CBS run due to CBS rules and regs of the time. This was the first syndicated season, so passing $25K wouldn't have happened before this 1977-78 syndicated season.

I remember visiting the Cleveland area to see my now late grandma Ernestine. Dick Goddard was cool. To know he did this for a half century is spellbinding and phenomenal. Thanks Dick.

On July 15, 1985, ABC Daytime premiered the daytime era version of THE ALL-NEW JOKER'S WILD emceed by Victoria Principal (Pamela Barnes Ewing of CBS-TV's "Dallas") and announcer Jack Clark. Just like the syndicated version of The Joker's Wild with host Jack Barry/Bill Cullen/substitute host Jim Peck, this daytime version of this game show gave good ratings for the 10:30AM spot to compete with other networks that go up against "$ale of the Century" (NBC), and Press Your Luck (CBS).

The only thing I remember about Conley’s was that saw an old woman in a wheelchair whose seriously deformed arm was shaped like a corkscrew. Freaked me the hell out, but I said nothing because I thought it’d be mean. I was, idk, 6 or 7?, which would have made it 1987-‘88, Rittman.
