Yeah, a lot of the seiko’s you find in Thailand are redials. Some are quite tacky, but others can look really nice!

Lovely stuff. I tried selling those Seiko's with Thai numerals but a lot of people dislike redails. Found some gems in Chiang Mai and befriended some watchmakers. Will be back in the end of februari. Excited to go hunting for good stuff. Heard there is a new vintage flea market near the uni?

Ah interesting! I’ve come across alot of people who are into the unusual mod dials. Chiang mai is full of gems, such a great city, enjoy your time when you get back there! Hopefully I’ll be back soon. Tay market maybe?

I guess some of the manufacturing will be outsourced outside of Japan leading to decrease in quality and authenticity, but supply of kapital clothing will increase. Ultimately, I expect price will also go up. Either way, I have zero interest in the brand now since my interest in the brand was mostly due to authenticity with Japanese style and fits. Price of Kapital in Japan was always cheaper than it should be, so I guess this is just market finding an appropriate price.

Yeah I agree, some things will start to get outsourced and in turn quality will most likely go down. Fr it’s pretty sad that they sold to be honest, hopefully the brand doesn’t go full bape

Agree with a lot of this! The amount you get the depop finesse is mad- I get it once a month I reckon. Never had a good experience with Vinted support- just get automated responses and always favour the buyer!

Personally I don't think the 'Carhartt reworks' selling for £70 in my local vintage shop look trashy, corny or bad. I really love upcycling and I love when ppl take old Nike and Adidas and rework it; I have a friend who does this and her wares are great. That said, *thank you* for making me aware of the mass production of reworked items😓 this is both tragic and alarming. Yet again Capitalism has wrapped its claws around an ethical concept, warping it.

I think it’s just down to personal preference wether you like them or not, and that’s just my bias 😅 but I think the real issue is the shady production methods & essentially a loophole for counterfeiting products. I see some people make awesome reworks themselves on Instagram which is great! But I think these particular products spoken about in the video are just a cash grab 🥲
