The first paragraph in the link above states: "The Interstate Massage Compact, or IMpact, is a multistate license option for massage therapists who work in more than one state. The IMpact represents a significant milestone in massage therapy as it is designed to revolutionize and simplify how licensed massage therapists can work across state lines by allowing professionals to adhere to a single set of requirements." That paragraph seems to contradict the video which clearly states that a practitioner working in multiple states must adhere to multiple sets of requirements. Please clarify.

It's tricky cause you need to be able to get to certain spots to do certain techniques...yet not everyone would feel safe and comfortable with a professional having hands there and the professional could get in trouble. There was also a moment of what seemed like unneccessarily intimate touch here of I saw correctly. Bike shorts or boy shorts may have helped it feel even more professional and nonsexual as well.

This is absolutely NOT true! This is NOT available to every veteran. I am a retired Marine with over 20 years of active service and severe chronic lower back pain. My nearest VA medical center is in Washington DC. They absolutely REFUSE to give me a referral to this service because they “have an in-house integrated wellness center” that offers massage at the medical center in DC. I explained to them that I do not have a mode of transportation to the medical center, and they still REFUSE to provide a referral for this service through Zeel. Neither the VA, nor its providers, care one ounce about the veterans who could greatly benefit from this. It’s as if they have some sort of vendetta and are hell bent on doing anything they have to do to deny this referral and prevent me from receiving this treatment through Zeel.

So MTs dont need medical massage training? After the 12 months will it switch to a pain management maintenance plan? I feel like after the 12, they wont get any more sessions and then go back to before massage pain.

This is no BS. I’ve been doing structural therapy for years, had experience with all alternative fields. Nothing Beats structural and energetic therapy. Once the structure is aligned, the energetic channels align too and problems you had that cannot be cured, suddenly goes away.

Thank you for this and so sorry that the start to your career was so traumatic. I really wish my school would have the courage to take such a strong stand on ethics in massage. The experiences you shared kept me from becoming a massage therapist for many years. Finally at the age of 50 I am going to school and am finding that it still feels like the wild west in this industry despite the efforts my state is making to legitimize the profession. Since starting school 9 months ago, 2 males massage therapist in my county have each received 3 years in prison for rape of female clients. I really appreciate your tips and suggestions. I will add your course to my list of CE options once I graduate. Looking for you on social media now!

When are our associations going to push states to clos÷these places? Why are unlicensed persos allowed to present themselves as massage therapists? Why do landlords rent to them? Why do municipalities continue to issue licenses for these places?

Nonsense. Number one learned rule from John Barnes is true MFR can not be done through clothes effectively. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@JoePAcalaughs Жыл бұрын
Not true. Mechanotransduction simply involves and requires a line of tension in the fascia and taking up the slack of the tissue, regardless of clothes. That being said, direct contact is indeed more beneficial.

I so wish I could get a massage from this guy. Is there a list of therapists whom he's trained?
@denisvolk69812 жыл бұрын
You can go on his website and find a therapist in your area, this work is widely trained now and you may find therapists in your area if you just search myofascial release therapy. Do your research and make sure that in their description they mention that they do John Barnes myofascial release, because myofascial release is trained in massage school but it's NOT the same techniques that they learn at hia workshops. Hope this helps. 🙏
