The Godot community manager did nothing wrong and actually acted preemptively to remove disruptive bad actors from the community. If people are upset by "woke" content, they shouldn't be a part of the community. They are a danger to other parts of that community. You can dress this up as, "oh, they shouldn't have made a political message," but we're not stupid. If you hate gay people, trans people, black people, or women, get out of game dev.

If you're taking a neutral stance on racism you're supporting racism. Its the same here. If you think being banned on Twitter is a big deal then how abtyou not intentionally attack a minority. Its not hard to not be a bigot, abd it's very easy to ignore a person supporting LGBTQ rights instead of attacking them. I feel bad for the devs banned accidentally but they can get unbanned and i can see why the decision was made. If you're someone who gets extremely mad about basic moderation, i don't want you in my community, and I'm sure Godot doesn't either.

Exactly. I agree with you. A neutral stance is still a stance. Which is why they shouldn't be participating in the discussions on the first place. Just focus on the engine which is your thing. Leave the social commentary to others.

Anyone who is actually upset by this is spending too much time on X and not enough time making games. Hate trans people? Boo hoo go make a game about it or something then. Godot cannot prevent you from cloning it's repository. Anyone with a computer connected to the internet can do this. Stop wasting your time on bullshit social media and go back to making games.

Thankfully, it can be forked and people can be free of these organizations conformity culture if they so wish. However, just what do people want to achieve from countering the woke cult? If you are making games, but don't like what the tools you use stand for, yet they are already free to use, how does it really affect you? Who is making games that are anti-woke anyway? This whole 'popular culture war' paradigm is silly on both ends. If people ignored it, it would just go away. But people feel the need to 'push back' against it, when they don't even understand how they are pushing back, why they are doing it, and what effect their push back is having. The one side knows their ideology and goals, but do you?

This woke shit has become a problem everywhere. To me "woke" means in your face LGBTQ+ propaganda, illegal alien acceptance, or other shit the democrats love. If these companies would just keep their shit to themselves, it wouldn't be a problem. I refuse to support any company, or organization, that pushes these political, societal destructive agendas.

Tbh it wouldve tried to infect everything further anyway, doesnt matter if people touch it or not. Because the infecting people do care. Its their whole identity, they dont have anything else to life besides twitter and the history of people who were pushed back before the very infectionists birth. And it affects other people too. Infection affects everything, thats its whole purpose. Sponsored developers have to comply the agenda. Consumers are made to devour the agenda. People do should strive to equality, but the infectionists want the superiority. And its already crazy how much power theyve acquired. And nowadays their doings arent healthy for society nor for them in almost any way. They are trying to go too far.

It absolutely does. They've basically said that anyone who isn't a leftist extremist isn't welcome in the community. How many skilled developers can not/will not contribute after this? Hopefully forks like Redot will stay the course of what Godot is _supposed_ to be. I do really love the tech.

"whats going to happen" Ask yourself what happens when Neither side of a two party system will accept the election results and has promised as much. then look into history I dont need to spell it out for you.

@@robertmartinu8803 they are literally willing to throw a supporter under the bus simply because he doesn't want to participate in the drama, imagine what the other donors feel knowing that godot will treat you like dirt for not participating in their political identity drama- or worse being against the ideology they try to push? They honestly could have just left the tweet on its own and didn't need to needlessly reply, incite and block people and this would have passed like nothing.

Absolutely. The leadership response has been the biggest offender. Well, actually, is hard to compete with a manager like that in terms of offensive behavior. But still, people in charge need to snap out of it and get it together.

It's a tactic as old as war itself. You make a monument or target, make it as attractive as possible to 'attack', then you get to play the victim and claim the moral high ground once it is attacked. It's called staging a false flag, and it works on very unsophisticated minds. Does that say anything for the average 'gamer' or entertainment seeker? It sure does!

The staff didn't attack anyone. They made a joke tweet, asking for people to share their games. Then people started attacking the Community Manager because they didn't like the joke.
