Yeah, this is the penultimate episode where she appeared... then she was only in episode "Stolen truck..." (6x16). It pissed me off that she was only in 9 episodes, that her story was left open and that she didn't appear in the final season. She's the best character and they even didn't end her story... It remains mystery. :( The episodes with her and her interactions with Sheldon are the best in YS. I'm sad that we'll probably never see Paige again. :/

1. She's depressed, lonely, lost. 2. Her family is completely estranged, they may hate each other (It wasn't an easy divorce - but rather family fight)... There was a breakup and a complete change of lives (confusion and sadness). Paige was in the middle of it all because it revolved around her. 3. She has high EQ, empathy and a need for friends... but age and intellectual differences do not allow her to get close to anyone. And her family situation (and mental problems) don't make it any easier for her. 4. Paige blames herself... because they fought over her, they moved to Texas because of her, and because of that, her father and sister are probably mad at her (friends, work, etc.). 5. Paige didn't fit in anywhere. She didn't do well in school and haited it. No one took her seriously, she was just a little girl in science. She didn't have many chances to excel (and her family situation didn't make it any easier. Besides her family sucks). 6. She started to hate who she was and blamed herself for it (because of her family background, school, etc.). She doesn't want to be smart/genius anymore, her priorities have changed (more of a sign of burnout). She hates herself for it. 7. Her mother was thrilled that Paige was a prodigy (and had high hopes for her). But Paige failed and dropped out of school because she was unhappy there and had no promising prospects... So she thinks she's let everyone down. 8. She has no one at all, no friends, family cannot be counted, no one understands her (she does not get along with anyone). She thinks she's trapped - too young and smart (but she doesn't want to be.. but can't changed that), she's dropped out of school, but she can't get a job (age). She doesn't know what to do. She lost her way, her hopes, ambitions. 9. She may have been highly intelligent and a genius, but she was still vulnerable and just a kid with serious problems. She needed help (at least understanding, support, a friend). But there was no one to help her. And many more similar lines could be written, because Paige's problems are complex. Her behavior is self-destructive and has nothing to do with intellect (depression can affects everyone - and very often geniuses). There's a lot more to it than just divorce (don't judge a situation you haven't been in).

16 was the age of consent in Texas, back then I mean. They raised it to 17 at some point. That’s why he dipped when they said she was younger than 16, he didn’t want to be a rapist.

@@Praevalidum Even if you ignore the law, I think 16 and 18 is ethically acceptable, but 15 and 18 is not. Also, some countries have an age of consent at 14. In such countries, 18 and 14 is legal, but it's still immoral/unethical. So you can't rely on the law to determine right from wrong.

I honestly don't see nothing bad with being with someone 2 years younger once you're in college (18 and 16 isn't the same as 15 and 13). The older, the bigger the gap can be (as a general rule, here in Spain is seen ok 1 year gap in high school, 2 years in college, 3 years after that)

18 or 19 year old with a 16 year old (Which he probably is) is fine.
