Jeeeezzzz. Talk about overcomplicating a connection...bud, just shove the stupid resistor in the connector and tape it well. Check issue solved before nolting everything back together...the end😅.. but great quality video and i KNOW you mean well. Yay learning! #MasterMackVolvoTech

You should have cut the sensor plug off the seat and used the wires off that to solder the resistor. It makes for a neat OEM looking pigtail. Otherwise, great information and very detailed video!

So I had an idea pop up in mind. I’m wondering if making the resister but not splicing into the factory harness, instead getting an aftermarket pigtail sauntering the resister to it then just simply plugging the factory harness into the aftermarket/resister harness we made would work as well? Since it’s still running a full circuit it should be the same I’m guessing. Or am I wrong?

In defensive firearms training, they drive home the concept, “slow is smooth, smooth is fast.” If people focus on speed first, they snag, their motions are jerky and imprecise, and they’ve actually lost time trying to re-acquire the target. The saying is used to emphasize the need for smooth, consistent motions that naturally bring you on target without the need to adjust. Your final recommendation sounds like this concept also applies to auto cross for similar reasons.

Hey man, splicing those jumpers into the airbag monitor harness with the resistor seems like a bit of overkill. If You're just trying to knock the voltage down a bit would it not be easier and less intrusive to just slide the resistor into the plug contacts and tape it in place? It just seems like this is a roundabout way of doing that and introduces more potential failure points. Just a thought.

No, Fiesta ST 2014 and 2015 use the Sync 2 that is not compatible with Apple Car Play. Only Sync 3 is compatible with Apple Car Play. You need to buy the Sync 3 ($1.5k new / $350 used) for it to work.

I have a 2014 and my MFT took a dump so I bought a complete headunit for $200 used out of a 16’ Fiesta, then I just got a retrofit adapter for the new hub which I got the Apple Car Play one for $50, the USB adapter is like $10. And then I just updated to version 3.0 and it worked.
