My boyfriend is in this field and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about his work. This Professor makes me want to learn everything about this field. I like him, he's fun.

You are not just a professor, a dr., a scientist, you're a Mentor. :) i think that is the most important for us students, which is very hard to find nowadays. I may not experience you personally, how i envy your students sitting in front of you. but at least i can feel your virtual hugg as a true mentor. thank you S&T.

12:00 Generally, as a Civil or Structural Engineer, be careful of boiler plate notes. I've relied too much on default notes.

At 1:37:00, says “drip, drip, drip is one million gallons per year”. I tried to calculate this, I got a very different answer. A “drop per second” isn’t well defined but let’s say it is 0.05ml per sec. Then per year is 0.05x60x60x24x365/1000 = 130 litres per year

I took Deming's TQM courses in Houston in the 90's..while I found it a bit on the deep side, there were a few things that I grabbed ahold of & still use. I watched some of my colleagues immerse themselves totally in the theories, and watched them burn themselves to the ground in too much data, too much process & procedure, and they lost common sense & flexibility, taking the human element out of the equation, in most cases. Use with caution!

I wish I had known more about this before being a materials tester on a clay subgrade highway in Northern Alberta. Could have prevented so much future frost heave. I hope that highway is doing well all these years later (its not, its Northern Alberta).

As a trial lawyer for many years I can see how JDR PhD caused the legal teams opposing him sleepless nights, before, during and after trials employing JDR as expert witness. His 15 lectures here - played over again and again - accompanied my 1000 evenings through COVID shutdowns. Ty JDR.

What did Dr. Rogers mean when he mentioned "Mucking out?" Is that when someone uses a Machine, such as as Dragline, to dig out the Sediments from the bottom of a Creek or River? THANK YOU in advance GOOD PEOPLE.

Hell a basic crash course in the 101's of environmental and engineering geology for anyone who has even a financial responsibility on such projects should be mandatory. Too many no-nothings get the call just for the bottom line.

13:25-15:12 should be mandatory viewing for all financial decision makers, lawyers, politicians and accountants with no civil engineering nor geological background. the scale of cost cutting and money-grubbing today in the world by bean counters who don't understand factor of safety is disgusting.

What is the Physical or Scientific reasoning for underground water to flow or travel the "Great Circle" Movement (as the Professor calls it) to point of being pumped at the well? There is NO DOUBT this is True but I don't understand "why" it is True.
