I have only been sim racing for a couple weeks now, and your videos have already helped me gain literal seconds in my lap times. For Formula Vee what is your shifter setup? 6-speed with pedal clutch, sequential, paddles? I know it's slowing me down but i have been using auto-shift to lessen my learning at the moment and focus more on learning how to trail brake. Anyways, thanks Sambo!
@Sambo_iRacing19 сағат бұрын
Paddles for me. I used to use a button clutch but then I moved to a new wheel with dual clutch paddles under the shifter paddles. It’s only really useful in non-sequential cars like the Vee but means I can use it for bite point in the other formulas

@@networkguy3152 Rest assured, it's not your fault. The mx5 cup is notorious for not being a very faithful car to reality in iracing (unlike the assetto corsa one). When the tires are cold, it’s an abomination, and not much better when they're warm. When the car is leaning, pay close attention to the brake input, and when it's on the line (wheel on the vibrator or on the edge of the ground) pay close attention to the throttle. Once cornered, the car is absolutely unstoppable (as hard to catch as a gt3 😹 ). Takes some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it (a few hours) you'll start to appreciate it, basically it's a good apprenticeship for the upper classes

Hey man, thanks for the guide. Helpful as usual! I have noticed that the telemetry does not seem to follow your inputs when you are doing the breakdown lap, would love to see this as it would help to visualise the braking time and flow better if it was working.

The telemetry pull through (graph) on Racelabs only works in real time (ie the graph stops working when I pause and slow it down). Watch the hot lap or race line lap for time and flow matey.

I am a lower middle tier driver. But I drive at my “90% pace” which is the speed I’m 90% confident I can finish the whole race without losing control. I truck along at that speed and let other people make mistakes. I’ve also learned the value of letting fast and/aggressive drivers through without a fight. I find they often crash on their own ahead of me and I drive on by. Good video Sam

Man Sambo idk how I missed this, I'm a newish racer. And obviously I do race with the racing line on, since I hate to sit in practice by myself and I do enjoy just hopping into races simply cuz it's fun and gain more experience by just racing. Always hated how all of these guides never give a visual of one lap with the racing line and if you try to get any advice about anything with it on they lose their minds As a newer racer it's much easier for me to learn first via the line, then focus on the track without it and see how to properly behave. Managed to hit a 1:33.5 yesterday in a race and am stoked, still not consistent with it tho haha great channel man thanks for this, I'll def stick around for the mx5 i'll never understand why people hate the line so much in iracing, it's static and overall pretty decent. The breaking/accelerate points are pretty close, while also giving you nice hints for during long corner of how to "hold" your car via throttle/braking. And cause it's static I can learn to get a feel for a track exactly with it, when to brake bit later, when bit earlier without looking for tiny things on track. While once I got the laps down THEN focusing on small things on track is sooo much quicker and easier
