I think the best Replacement's song for this season of Picard is ... "UNsatisfied" ... cuz I am definitely happy! Love the season. Not so hot on the finale.

I would imagine that new viewers might have my experience with The Witcher. I never played the game. Felt sorta lost with all the flashbacks. But still really enjoyed each episode. Even realizing there's a whole universe of backstories I have no clue about. Also, I read a comment from a vet who was extremely thankful for new Trek portraying Raffi, Picard and Seven as realistic combat vets in episode 4. I would imagine this week's portrayal of the Borg as not deserving of extinction and hunted down for parts but rather survivors of a horrific war will be equally gratifying. We only saw the Borg before as monsters. Hugh gave us some compassion for them in TNG. But now Picard sees a new hope for his role in the universe if he could help the Federation see the Borg thru Hugh's eyes. Picard is practical. This is the same Picard. Just older, wiser and myopic as usual when it comes to completing the mission at hand. He also had a love interest in TNG where he had to put the mission first while she remained on a planet almost getting burned alive. It wasn't until the mission was over that he told her it's prolly best they not date and she finds another ship. He is not making Raffi drink. Evidently, Raffi has been a drunk for a long time. He gives her an ovation cuz she deftly put the Federation into an "Impossible Box". Usually, every one joins in when one person starts clapping but they made a point not to have that happen this time. Still, due to their history, he wanted her to know he appreciated her efforts I like these choices. So far, she is not jeopardizing the mission with her drinking. When that happens. As it usually does for drunks. Then he'll slam down the kibosh. Until that day comes, Picard is wise enough to know that Raffi has to hit "rock bottom". Him nagging her about her drinking. Or going into her room and removing bottles of alcohol, like Rios does, is just going to prolong the process. What looks like mistakes to you are actually very considered and well-chosen narratives that simply can't be resolved in one neat lil episode like old Trek used to do. New Trek treats the viewer far more respectfully than that.

Wade ----- I thought it was pretty clear that 709 didn't tell the crew she knew Bedazzal before the meeting. Janeway would totally murder someone if they tortured 709 to death just as Sisko would murder someone if they tortured Jake to death. Additionally --- The killing of eichev was to solidify that savage disdain some have for synthetics. Maddox also stated that he sent out Dahj/Soji to earth/borg cube to uncover the conspiracy. I like status report ---- You need to take the jolt cola away from Sean during that segment.

Oh, it was clear 7 didn't say she knew bJayz, but I was unclear how much it actually changed the plan. Bejangles knowing 7 just mean she wants her MORE, so ... the plan still works just fine? I'm not even mad at 7 getting revenge for Icheb, but it's still a pretty clear Fridge trope. Not sure how it's solidifying a disdain for synthetics to kill him though. Borg are lumped in with synthetics now? I mean I GET why people might have disdain for Borgs, former or not. Yeah, there was a lot of info Maddox dropped that we could have gone in more detail on. I'll tell Glen you like status report. If only to drive sean insane haha. Thanks for the feedback!

Question: does DS9 NEED to have that overarching 'story', that meaning that you were referring to? It had no less of a story than TNG : things happen to you and your space friends, and you try and deal with them and grow as humans along the way.

Burnham didn't eat MU Saru. It was a different Kelpien. Look at Burnham's face at the end of Ep 11 after Lorca grabs her hand and says, "You're not alone, Michael. We will survive this...together."

Was it? We get things wrong often enough (see Freaky Friday Stamets) but her picking Saru out of the lobster line I thought was clear enough.

Kickers of Elves Yeah, the writer confirmed it wasn't Saru and Doug Jones wasn't even on set. But, most people thought it was MU Saru. You are in good company.

Crap show, they couldn't even ruin Star Trek with an original plot, they had to steal that as well. anas-tronaut.blogspot.ca/2017/10/star-trek-discovery-tardigrades.html#comment-form_4466510171281667956
