I don't agree with you saying that the majority of women were white women. This year's show was the most diverse in the history. Back in the early 2000s, it's all white women with only two or three black women being there who were Tyra and Naomi. That's it. But this year, they have all races. Yes, they have a lot of Black women, five Asian women and one Brown woman who is Neelam Gill (who is Indian). But I don't think there's anything wrong with a lot of white models being there since a large percentage of the world population is white and a large percentage of the models is white. I think they've done it enough with inclusivity because this is a coveted fashion show, not a United Nations conference. You're a white woman yourself so what's wrong with including white women? Because white women made and built the brand, Victoria's Secret since the 90s and early 2000s. Most of the white women that they had were the OGs. Though, I think nepo babies like Lila Moss shouldn't be there. But no, that's not all about white models. Their races don't matter. I see them as different types of beauties.

So many great points in this video. As an older millennial I've been watching reviews for this year's show and the lackluster set, and costumes are the first thing I noticed.

I think the issue is that they are shaping things subconsciously, so even if you don't think to yourself "I want to look like them" they are heavily influencing your point of reference by 'deciding' what is beautiful. I remember seeing an interview by Doutzen Kroes where she said she went on a liquid diet for 3 days before the show. Like if even THEY cannot look like that unless under ridiculous circumstances, how can this be used as inspiration of the 'epitomy of beauty' for the rest of us plebs? It's bound to just create incredibly unhealthy and unattainable beauty standards. So I think it has less to do with trying to be relatable and more to do with not being incredibly toxic and harmful, which wow the bar has been so low apparently 😂

That’s a really good point! The thing is that if they kept the “happy image” and added healthy women of all sizes they had a strong potential to reshape our view of what’s attractive again but they blew it

3:12 French women, who rock this style, usually wear very expensive neatly tailored SAINT LAURENT, Balmain/Isabel Marant (or now Celine) jackets, as well as jeans from these brands, or from very _precise_ local French dupes like Zadig&Voltaire etc. There is a very specific cut (high armholes, very thin arms, very skinny fit on the body, skinny jeans are made to fit like trousers and not like sprayed on cheap skinnies, t-shirt has a particular neckline). This style is deceptively simple, and it heavily relies on Slimane/Decarnin/Marant specific cuts. Majority of women outside of France are exposed mostly to fast fashion brands, and don't even know how in real life those expensive brands are supposed to fit, unless they grew up rich and were exposed to latest luxury fashion clothes.
