There are a few. I’m currently here in the 2nd block which is fundamentals. As of so far I’ve seen two female instructors both from the navy, but no Air Force I believe. There are a good amount of females in training however I’ll be candid most fail in fundamentals due to the physical demands. If you do wish to go fire protection I do highly suggest you come prepared, it’s a shame too as many of them push to pass but don’t meet the requirements in the end. I love it, the training is extremely demanding but the instructors are very caring and want us to pass. But in short there are a few females (in all branches here USMC, army, Air Force, and some navy), just come prepared physically and mentally if you want to pass.

There's a few but the main thing I see is female students getting washed out from the physical stuff. If you can make it past dummy drags in fundamentals you should be able to get through 👍

I just got here a month ago. I’m 4 days into fundamentals. Looking for tips. I’m exited to be here, but also nervous. About search, about the tunnel, all that. No reason for me to be worried I got this shit. But here I am lol

@@brianbaez6044 it was easy. I mean it was tight. But it was like 20-25 feet. Not bad at all. Honestly looking back at everything kinda makes me realize how much I’ve grown. I’m an actual fire fighter now haha we saved a kid and an old lady just yesterday. All this stuff I was worried about before was just me building it up in my head. Whole thing was a challenge, I was burnt out in tech school, but it’s achievable and once your through your through.

According to the NFPA 2017 stats... about 70% of all firefighters in the US are volunteer. It was an experience I’ll never forget, and I’m thankful to my lil community for the privilege to do so.

It should never be fully paid all over the world and stay how it is bc it would be esayer if u want to help out your local community for free and not working hard to get paid and its very esay to get in to a non paid one

@@dewstewgaming if you asked most volunteer fire fighter you would find they aren’t doing it for the money but for the chance to help others and what price can you put on going into a burning building where the temperature can get up to 1000 degrees and the smoke so thick you can’t see

Hi, I'm doing an assignment on women in sports journalism and the coronavirus ban on locker room access and how that will affect sports reporting. How essential are locker room interviews to sports reporting? Was wondering if you would post a video to your channel discussing that or even bring on other female sports reporters to get their opinions. So far a majority of female sports reporters said they think that locker room interviews are very important to the job and would be a mistake to get rid of them forever. Basically all saying to get that raw emotion from the guys right after a game. However a couple women did say the think that they could do awaywwith them even after the virus, they both said that as a woman it is really awkward going in there for interviews and seeing them walking around butt naked. One said she frequents a locker room that isnt equipped for having women in there, she said the shower area is wide open as she says she tries hard to avoid it but sometimes she sees them guys coming out of the showers. I went through this course many years ago... It aint easy! Lots of our guys washed out! Mostly for medical problems they didnt know existed before cuz this school pushes you to the limit of human endurance.

Super rare... I never knew any officers that went through the DOD Fire Academy. All of our officers were WOs that were prior enlisted that either graduated through the Fire Academy or were taken from other job fields to become our COs. My CO wasnt even a fire fighter she was an aircraft recovery specialist with zero fire fighting experience.
