Dear God, Baldwin was an awful interviewer, throwing in his quips and references instead of yielding the spotlight to Andrews. Painful.

I truly believe Joel would have made an amazing Batman Beyond movie with Keaton. Lost Boys meets the original version of Batman Forever, would have been redeeming for him but Studios are dumb as shit.

Ridiculous to think anyone would listen to Alec Baldwin about energy issues in America. This documentary (and interview) hasn't aged well. The US is now a net energy exporter for first time in 50+ years. We're literally keeping Europe's economy afloat by sending them LNG now that Russia has cut them off. Fracked gas was largely responsible for the US reducing carbon dioxide emissions faster than any other developed nation (by replacing coal). Americans enjoy much lower energy costs compared to other countries because of fracked natural gas and oil. We all want a cleaner environment...we all want renewable clean energy....but until renewable sources can compete with cheap, abundant natural gas...and until we have the technology and infrastructure and energy storage capabilities....renewables won't make up any meaningful part of our energy mix. The "greenest" and "cleanest" way forward is to move past coal. Plain and simple. Natural gas is the only viable option to do that. It will bring down greenhouse emissions in the process...and provide a bridge to renewables as technology and economics improves.

In Fall 2013 I was a student, age 60, in Jesse's first semester teaching at SFSU in Cinema, A great guy caring, articulate, but pretty descriptive about what he wanted you to be aware of and learn. He got busy the next year because of these Sundance accolades and new project offers came in. He sort of sadly disappeared. Jesse sent in a friend to take over his absences to our other classes; who was also young, but very skilled, no slouch at all, but since he was not on the schedule, reluctantly I cannot remember his name.. I haven't seen Jesse for 8 years now, but peek at his work. I fraer looking up friends anbd such only seeing too many young and old whoi have been injured or died., It is life, but hard to keep looking in on reality, not a movie. For example we have Alec's trajectory in 2022 filming and shooting, and accidentally killing his director. Life is a documentary. People have another scene after the last film. Especially those in the world of media. By the way Jesse gave me A's. I graduated May 2015. Not at all as I thought the experience, would be. No one values experience, friendship, or views of a 60 year old student, not even the teachers. You will not fit in. You would have to be famous. The teachers over 40 are not that much more credited or swarmed over unless they had an Oscar or some other award. To get young people's undivided attention in a theater room is not happening. Phones/Laptops etc. Even back row earphones. All agendas are unaligned, goals are unknown. Unless they need an old man in a film, you won't be invited to their lunch table and become a part of any group. I tried. 4 years not missing but 2 days (4 classes). It is a solemn journey and can only make you feel good about endurance of oneself. One of my other followed Profs there in my Jazz History was Andrew Speight, talented Australian Sax player. Andrew died age 53 in Burlingame, CA Dec 2022. Hit by 2 Caltrains when his Porsche was stopped on the tracks. Another of many sad realities. The Arts Dept there has lost several I met while attending. I wasn't ever thinking of them as teachers, but as people with knowledge and experience, some were older than me. Some were hopeful, not all. I wanted to be seen as me.

I thought it was a masterful documentary, so well done. For it to be narrated in his own voice, brilliant choice. The visuals were also amazing, there was something strangely haunting but beautiful about the video. I had seen Brando on the Dick Cavett show, I was in the audience. He seemed so shy and he had a slight lisp which I never noticed in his movies. When I went to the show he was the surprise guest, the audience didn’t know who was coming on. I had just started to appreciate his work before that so I was thrilled beyond belief to be there. This is one of my favorite documentaries.
