Remember watching this build back in the day on TARDIS Builders! Stunning work and my favourite console ever :-) Hope its still going strong?

Hello, great work on the console! I have no idea if this will ever be noticed, considering the age of the video. But I am really trying to create my own life-size replica of the 80's tardis console. I was wondering if you have any tips on how you achieved this to it's fullest extent? Right now i'm quite busy with work, and won't have have a decently long period of free days to work on building it from wood for instance, but I am 3D printing switches and buttons and what not, not all of them are screen-accurate, (not the ones used in the show but like, little keyboards and switches I found online) but I like it this way. Anyhow, just passing by and wondering if you have any tips :)

Where's this filmed, it reminded me of a trading estate in Basildon, but with a roof, because those shutters on the doors look like garages in a indoor market or behind a row of houses

Well done, the attention to detail here is incredible I was convinced it was the real one so well done for that :) . Also Fantastic that it has been signed by Four Doctors maybe more now. Absolutely amazing

Hay man I’m wanting to build a TARDIS console of my own and I’m very puzzled on how you made the demat lever activate the time rotor and the sound effects can you tell me how you did it?

This would be a sick way to open your bedroom door to show off to your friends, like on button opens the door, the other opens the bed door, on for the coat cupboard e.g.

Cool! It really looks "The Business"!

This design is perhaps the most dated console because it looks so much like a 1980s conception of future technology. That is not to detract from the workmanship on this duplicate prop, though. It is meticulously detailed down to the last button and screen graphic and looks as if it could actually have been used on the show itself. Just a beautiful job all around. A museum-quality replica.
@jarrodlungley4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you, LordZontar! Indeed it does look quite dated with the big clunky keyboard keys and CRT monitors. It’d be interesting to see an updated variation on the same concept, however that too would become dated quite quickly. Thanks for your kind words on the workmanship! It was quite a job but one worth the time and effort. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my friend and mentor over at PB Props and Models, and my best man who did all the programming and automation. Without their help it would still be in an unfinished state!

Cheers Mark! Yes, keeping well and the console is being preserved well though sadly is remains in its shipping containers most of the time as I have nowhere to have it fully assembled. I make small tweaks to it when I get the time. :)

I really like this console design, it's much better than the awful New Series designs! Problem is, this replica console can NEVER be cleaned again, as it will rub all the autographs off! 😂😂😂

Thanks Clive! Yes, cleaning was a problem until I placed clear adhesive PVC over the top of the signatures. Thanks for your comment! 👍😎

Where you find a console screen video? (sorry for errors i'm a russian)
@jarrodlungley4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ris Risov! The console screen videos used were slides that I made myself in Adobe Photoshop. There are also a couple of animations that were 'borrowed' from KZbin. :)

if you have a spare room in your house you could put your tardis in front of the door and redecorate the room with the console in it and the circle things on the wall

got all the doctors who used that console there, which was probably the best thing they have done that day for memory sake and Paul Mcgann

Don't lie to me, you just managed to get your hands on the original and pass it off as your replica.
@jarrodlungley6 жыл бұрын
Lol! Thanks for your comment! I can assure you that I hadn’t ever seen the original until I went to Cardiff in 2017, just months before the Doctor Who Experience closed down. As I live in Australia, I had to rely on loads of reference pics, prototyping, and help from a friend of mine in the UK who had acquired some measurements derived from parts that came from the original moulds. 😎
