one of my heroes when I was in my late teens/twenties. Joni Mitchel lived/is living a strong and amazing life. She is an incredible songwriter with the voice of an angel.

This is my favourite version - an older Joni, who really understands life and the meaning behind the words. You'd like A Case of You from the same album

Nice reaction, well-chosen song especially now with her new Grammy award. But yes - I agree that for this song, her original version would have better introduced her to a younger generation.

that has got to be the most banal, pointless rendition of that song I've ever heard. It's a shame that reactors don't have a way to figure out which version of the song is the best version ... and/or the best representative version. The original commercial release that would have been played on radio is generally the best version for older songs ... and that would certainly be the case for "Both Sides Now". I've never seen a reactor pre-announce what they are going to react to and then to ask for "best-version recommendations" ... it would certainly allow reactors to figure out the better or safer version. Thanks for taking the time to do the song. Sorry the version was so bad. The original version is actually a pretty nice song. Like I say ... for most songs as far as the audio, the original commercial radio version is the safe bet. As far as live performances .... that takes more research. Gave it a thumbs up for the effort anyway :)

Respectfully disagree that this version is "pointless." What makes this version so moving is that she is revisiting a song she wrote in her 20's with decades of life experience and wisdom to draw from. It's a much more introspective and world-weary take on the material compared to the original version.

Your are clearly clueless, if you listen carefully, you'll hear that I react to songs based on recommendations. If you think there is a better alternative, then recommend it. This long epistle of yours is pointless, sorry

@@reactionbychitime So you having a personal opinion as to whether a song is desirable or not is ok, but my having an opinion about the song is not ok ... RIGHT? I did not say anything negative about your reaction ... I indicated I simply did not like that version of the song. Did you or did you not say at the end of the video to, and I quote, "let me know what you think about the song down in the comment section below" ???? Regarding your insult about me being "clearly clueless" ... It is yourself that might in fact reflect that, as you ostensibly solicit comments from viewers which are generally going to be comments and opinions about the song, or on your reaction to the song, or other observations about the artist or song etc ... yet when I gave my opinion and said that I found that particular version to be banal and a pointless rendition ... you make a personal attack against me. You said "If you think there is a better alternative, then recommend it." ... I already did ! ... or were you too angry to catch that? I recommended the original commercial radio version. In good faith I also made other observations and suggestions. It is unfortunate that you find my comments to be "pointless" as you put it. I appreciated your reaction and so I gave it a thumbs up (at this time one of the 6 thumbs up out of 113 views) ... if I didn't appreciate the reaction I would not have done so ... and in fact I specifically * thanked you * for taking the time to do the reaction! It would appear this is not appreciated by you. You were in fact successful however because your reply makes me wish I had not taken the time to comment. Please feel free to unsubscribe or block me, I will understand.

Hi, it takes a strong person to show their emotions to the world, your reaction was spot on for the song, it was designed to hit you in the heart and to effect your soul so you do think about your parents. If you would now like some music to cheer you up, try John Farnham and the Melbourne symphony orchestra, with the songs... -Playing to win. - your the voice. - help ( Beatles cover). - it's a long way to the top (ACDC cover) I think you will love these, hope you get to check them out. 👍👍👍❤️🇦🇺

This is one of my all time favorite songs............. Really how could it not be. If you love someone this song says it all. There are three others that are my all time favorites in addition to the "Unchained Melody". "For Your Precious Love", first song by Jerry Butler and the Impressions back in 1958. However I like the rendition song by Blondie Chaplin and The Flames 1968. Another favorite is "I'll Never Find Another You" first recorded by The Seekers 1964 sung by Judith Durham. The slower version of "I'll Never Find Another You" 2017 was done by Keith Potger & Nicki Gillis and it is a real tear jerker. My last one is "Hallelujah" piano version. It is such a powerful song. Please lookup some of the other songs I mentioned. Great job Chitime..... 🙂

Chi it was an interesting reaction. I was yelling at the screen when you were in bliss listening to the song; look at what Karen is doing! I kinda thought it was noteworthy. This video is a lip-sync but she does this so well it’s hard to tell. Never misses a beat. Oh the clue is no microphones. It’s a dead giveaway in music videos. So I’m going to recommend a live video of about the same time frame, 1970. Karen and Richard (brother and sister) Carpenter and the band are playing a live show outside in front of wounded Viet Nam War veterans. It’s Karen doing what Karen does so well and the boys just trying to keep up. It’s magical. It’s the Bacharach/David Medley. Burt Bacharach passed away earlier this year at 94. He’s responsible for many hundreds of songs including Close To You. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6PWpn95e555qqs

Kiss have a whole bunch of classics up their sleeve, about as catchy and addictive as melodic hard rock can be. If you want to see what they look like WITHOUT their makeup, check out their songs from the 80s, when they ditched that makeup for a while - just to show everyone that they didn't need it to convince people of how good they were. I strongly suggest you start with "Heaven's on fire". That's a REALLY intense song, and I've seen many reactor girls be pleasantly surprised with how handsone lead singer/rhythm guitarist Paul Stanley looks without makeup 😉He and bassist Gene Simmons - the one with the demonic charisma, the long tongue and the erotic-oozing bass grooves - are the core members, the very heart and soul of the band.

Sad to think that of all the people seen on stage here with the exception of drummer Artemis Pyle are no longer with us. Two of them (the singer and the guitarist in the red trousers) would die in a plane crash only three months after this performance as well as one of the backing singers. Another three would die years later and the guitarist with the red guitar died only the day before you posted this video.
