Its so fitting that a foreteller is literally telling Odysessus that he will make it home, but he won't be the same man he was, but Ody is so busy thinking in fear that everything he's done has been for nothing that even his clever mind can't work out that he has to read between the lines of the vision. Its how prophecy gets every hero in the end, all it takes is a little bit of know how to defeat it.

calypso live her live all alone and was cursed to love whoever land ashore on her island. She truly love odysseus but zeus told her to let him go. She was reluctant at first but she knew that she have to listen to Zeus since he is the king of the gods. It was heartbreaking calypso didn't deserve this.

@@burrito2981 not excusing the act itself, but the situation she was given was that he was supposed to remain there for eternity (by Zeus' doing not hers, because that is how her ISLAND works, she herself cant even leave it) so given that and seeing how exhausted, torn and traumatized she tried to seduce him to make him happier. It is unfortunately an easy to follow train of thought, because she is a goddess and cannot relate to human emotions completely. So for her she could not understand that he loved Penelope enough to seek her even while being in literal paradise, it literally just didnt compute for her. So while the actions are definitely not permissible by general standards, in her eyes she thought she was seeking his best interest, an ends justify the means sort of thought process.
