People don't think about how one link in the chain messes up our whole day to day life. Just think if you didn't have gas or internet or cell service or water or etc your daily routine would be out of whack.

Thank you for sharing this video. Since none of can actually get over to see for ourselves. What I really want to know is what caused this collapse. Did water enter the area from across the road?

Is no one telling people about your excellent videos? Everyone who views it should be giving you a "like." Amazing work by the crews. Looks dangerous. God bless and good weather.

Keep your eye on FEMA. They are being less than helpful elsewhere as reported by a responsible fire chief on the scene.

Not all internet service has been restored. I'm within walking distance of town and don't have it yet. We use Vyve. Any news about when they will be restored?
@hollyhenry58343 ай бұрын
You should call Will at the local Hotwire office. Vyve is the worst at fixing things of any provider here.

Thank you sir. If you could answer a question about access roads. Not everyone is ready to venture out without knowledge of open roads. Maybe you have a good source about open / closed roads.

Lets all be thankful for all that we do have and remember houses and property can always be repaired and so thankful that we are safe and alive. As my mom always said "this too will pass". Impressive update to convey what is underway and to set expectations with residents. People can embrace patience when they know actions are being taken. That's not at all easy to do under the circumstances of a storm like this. Great thanks to all!

Thanks for update!! Haywood electric is never mentioned in any updates. Does that mean that Duke is taking over their outages?
@davidm91903 ай бұрын
They rely on Duke to get their power to highlands. He discussed this. Once Duke fixes the main transmission stations, they can start running new lines.

Were there floods in your town?
@matteberz94583 ай бұрын
The flooding was in the "Small" creeks that became overwhelmed. Lots of those homes next to these creeks took a hit. Nothing like Asheville that lost so much.
