Bogart, and Bacall, who was gorgeous in this film, full figured who smoked most seductively with her already sexy smoker's voice! "You know how to whistle, don't you Steve? Just put your lips together and blow." They named their son Steve after Bogart's character in this film.

The three King brothers (producers) claim they appear as engineers and a porter during the train station scene - but the scene is shot too dark to tell. I'd suggest comparing this comedy with the Kings' other Western - the Noir-Western 'Bad Men of Tombstone' (1949).

Two men are suspected of being the murderer of several widows. Joseph Cotten is the only suspect we see. The other man, we're told, died in an accident with an airplane propeller blade. He was sliced to smithereens. Why does this let the Joseph Cotten role off the hook? We're told there are witnesses back East who can identify the murderer if they have a photo of him. And the two detectives who visit Santa Rosa have a photo of Joseph Cotten. Which would obviously prove his guilt? Am I missing something?

Every time I hear the word lumberjack, I can't help thinking of the Monty Python song. It's there now in my head. "He's a lumberjack and he's ok........"😐

Rob I love the movies you pick, as a old film fan myself, you seem to find some really good "oddball" films. You do a great job presenting it too. Always look forward to your choices!

Thanks Mike! You know, every film can't be Casablanca, and sometimes it's fun to just go researching some of the little-known gems like these.

Have loved watching Johnny Wissmuller movies since a young child use to do his yells while walking and shopping with my mom, which she would talk a few steps a head of me. Now just about 67, I still enjoy them greatly. Sorry, I'm not married, if I was, I'm sure my wife too would take a few fast steps a head of me, with a red, red face.
