I enjoyed it if I watched it as a soap opera. However, a lot of it seemed corny as history

I am so glad I found your reviews. I enjoy your scholarly insights and your authentic sympathetic responses. It's clear your work has brought you close to these historical figures. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. What is the title of your book? I assume it's published at this point? Thank you!

Henry VII’s tumultuous early life and trials and tribulations probably explains (but not excuses) Henry VIII‘s mentality and behaviour. A very young dynasty needed to be secure with a legitimate male heir in those very dangerous times.

Honestly, of all the Tudors, Henry VII was the best in my view and he should really get more attention. I will confess, I don't like Elizabeth at all (as a queen she was competent, but a lot of the work was actually done by people like the 2 Cecils or Walsingham who stabilized her reign, but as a human being she was horrible, she was Henry VIII 2.0). However, Henry VII took a country in turmoil and stabilized it, brought down the tensions, healed the country and managed through careful administration to leave his son full coffers and the first peaceful transfer of power in a very long time. And one thing that I appreciate about him, it's the fact that he was paranoid, but never became bloodthirsty. He'd rather hand out fines than kill people. I don't know if I can think of another peaceful(-ish) paranoid person in history. Usually, paranoia in leaders results in a lot of bloodshed.

The second worst, I dare say. The absolute worst: Jodhi May as Anne Boleyn, in The Other Boleyn Girl (BBC version, 2003). That version of Anne had no idea how to behave at court, and her brother had to remind her from time to time she was actually talking to the king.

You could’ve mentioned that weird part in the wedding of Catherine and Henri, with where Sulaiman the magnificent showed up and he brought his entire harem along it was weird 😑

Hi im not Brit but i had read your Tudor history and i happen to know about Richard Rich history books and historical novels all described him as a truly wicked and vile man has no moral compass as you said he was really evil

Love your videos!! I can agree with your supposition about TC and HVIII but isn’t that the failure of all men connected to Henry? They all seem to get “too big for their boots” and believe they can influence the Crown? That’s also why Henry is surrounded by these kinds of guys. He want to see if he can dominate 🤷🏽♀️

I got all but the Virgin Queen one, but I am pretty sure the "Virgin" part was due to her marital status and image, not reality, so I am counting myself right. The fact that I KNEW she was called the Virgin Queen means I understood the question.

Hi from Türkiye. I really love your videos (especially the ones regarding tudor history). I’ve read Leslie Pierce’s book. But there are some missing information in that book. Recent findings in Türkiye have demonstrated that Mahidevran was also legally married with sultan due to her noble background. She was a Circassian princess. I find very interesting btw the similarities between the people in Henry and Suleyman’s lives. I especially love Catherine of Aragon and even though she was from the most powerful dynasty in Europe, Mahidevran was also a princess. Like Hürrem-Anne similarity, Mahidevran-Catherine similarity is also interesting I think. Both women were noble and they ended up with poor living conditions compared to their early lives.

I got 14 because I couldn’t remember the exact day the Queen of England died. I will say the question about Elizabeth I is a bit of trick question as you said because even she’s known by that nickname there’s no way of confirming its accuracy.
