It definitely would work with Quest 2 or 3. I use Quest 3 + Virtual Desktop (set to VDXR mode). But you'd need a decent gaming machine, of course.

I think you'd be good - you just may have to lower the in game resolution and settings quite a bit since often times the "forced" VR mode can be a huge performance hog. So I'm not sure how pleased you'd be by the heavily lowered visuals. But I did notice that this game ran surprisingly smoothly compared to most other UEVR Tool Injected games.

Awesome! I honestly didn't expect that VR would work as well as it did with this game (a total game-changer). I was loving the background music as well. It seriously gave me Mario Sunshine vibes 😃.

I would like to see the original Myst in VR. Not the re-done, re-mastered versions, but the original.

I think having the choice would be amazing, so people could play either version in VR. I'm on the fence on how clunky the old version would be in VR without any improvements, but it would be interesting for sure. I think the other issue is when the lore or puzzles of Myst get easier or dumbed down a bit for modern gamers in remastered versions.

So do I have 3 choices, 1 - quest 3 (or other headset) stand alone, pcvr official version or PC with UEVR mod? How will I choose the best experience, I want the best graphics & soundscape I assume that controllers will be less of an issue due to the point & click nature of the game unless the VR version has been tweaked for gameplay.

The best thing to do would be to wait for the full steam PCVR release of Riven, as it will have the proper full VR support & controls + amazing visuals.

Agreed! The dev practically handed Studio Ghibli a gem of a project on a silver platter (if only they had asked). These projects only bring the fans closer to the films (and make them want to BUY content/merchandise from the studios).

The crazy thing to me was how different it was to play this mod on a monitor vs. a VR headset. It's the presence of standing there in (what must be) one of Dante's nine circles of hell. You become almost paralyzed with fear. So yeah, it was a "trip" to say the least.

Any suggestions on getting it running in vr properly, I have a rtx 4090 , 5950x Im on index controllers. The menu nor the option buttons work and I keep falling through the map.

Hey, I actually found that I can't use teleport or else it's inevitable to fall through the ground (at least for now). So manual movement only. You may have to tinker with the options/settings until it's a stable framerate (lower the graphics settings). I also had to load up steamvr first and then open the demo afterward in order for it to run properly.

Appreciate the feedback! The funny thing is I DID use Audacity (apparently not enough filtering was done), and I will be improving my mic situation for sure very soon. Will also clean up the audio more moving forward. One issue was because of how much the original recordings had to be amplified (which didn't help). I suppose this will act as a good test video to compare future improvements with 😆.

I would not consider myself a "gamer" but due to age I have played it all in person.... from space Invaders all the way through. Brought a used vive this week because of the price, downloaded Half Life Aylx and got my mind utterly Blown.....What caught me off guard was the Depth and illusion of Scale. The first barrier I hit as a late user is what titles to play next....sure I have a list but its only like 5 games.......and I had to spend time hunting this list out.
