It sounds very good - I bought two! I have a Sony NW A45 and it cost about £180 four years ago... I bought two Mechan players for less! And the Mechan can drive bigger headphones better than the Sony which hasn't got the power to drive Philips X2 'phones, for example.

@@JohnAranitaIt is built like a little tank... and it looks "old skool" cool. The sound quality, using FLAC, is amazing! And I have one permanently connected to my "high end" hi-fi system. Hope you are able to get one of these...

@@Jezza-m5k Interesting that you mention having a sony NW A45. I have the A55, which I'm very pleased with. How does the Mechen stand up, sound quality wise, compared to the Sony? Any info would be great. I'm probably going to get a Mechen anyway, but I'm so curious. I hope you get this message.

The Sony A55 was the later replacement for the A45, and is pretty much the same player. The sound quality of the Mechan is impressive for such an affordable device. The sound stage is bigger in scale, more bass and just more "alive". The Sony is smooth and civilized...nice for jazz - not my thing! Anyway, I listen to a lot of Metal... and if you like, say, Thrash, Grunge and Black Metal, this is the device for you. But, I have also listened to some classic albums... Dark Side of the Moon and Hotel California, and they sound excellent! I also listened to Kate Bush and Kraftwerk... amazing! Another thing, battery life! The Mechan seems to have at least twice the battery power, once charged, compared with the Sony. And finally, I purchased my two Mechan players from Amazon. There are many clones of this device and I can't say that they will perform as well as the Mechan... and that includes the "Mechan" devices sold for cheap on certain websites! I use one Mechan as a portable device and one connected permanently to my hi-fi system...Quad 44, 606 pre-power amps and Spendor SP2 speakers...that's pretty high end hi-fi! And the Mechan will drive Sennheiser HD600/650 headphones, which the Sony find difficult to drive to any decent volume level! Hope this helps....

I have tried to follow this but right at the beginning the tool is missing from my toolbar that you have used. The name was object selection. Where is it? I only have two options: rectangular select and ellipse select.
