Hamilton and Mean Girls are too good to catch cameras, especially the Regina's and Gretchen's (There was one video where Renee was singing Someone Gets Hurt, and she caught a Bootlegger, and gave them some kind of disgusted/ disapproving look)

An i hope they turned those seats in. Bootlegging movies is one thing, totally do that. Bootlegging a play/musical... no. That is a live performance. They only make money from the live performance.

That's usually theater staff's job... Usually nobody cares that much but some people really got some nerve recording a whole ass show like gurl Just get your fave song like a normal person
@peachypufff2 күн бұрын
@@crunchevo8974 they record the whole thing usually for people who dont have the money to see it or it isn’t available for them in their state, city or country. is it technically bad and probably illegal? yeah, but it’s usually done with good intentions. plus, ppl dont have to do it anymore now that its on disney plus, and even then, it’s not like people do it with bad intentions on lin.
@gratefulharp7352 күн бұрын
@ frr, i know its the theaters job i just thought it was funny at he just would find these theses people in the audiences and would tell security their exact seat lmfaoo
@crunchevo89742 күн бұрын
@@gratefulharp735 sad thing is if they're like front row near the middle especially . It's usually policy to not disturb the other guests because how tf are you supposed to get to them? You have to make them play telephone and hope the people you annoy are more annoyed are the person recording then you for asking them to actually follow the rules that are definitely 100% part of the announcement that happens before the show.

As someone who’s recently started getting into plays more, can someone tell me why they don’t have professional videos of broadway productions? Why gatekeep it so hard?
@wheresmahat3452 күн бұрын
One reason is that unexpected flashes or sounds from cameras can throw actors off. However, Broadway actors in specific have been professionally trained and know how to focus throughout the show, so it's likely more of a profit reason. Less videos online = more people buying tickets to see the show! There could also be copyright reasons or as you said gatekeeping if its a premiere of a new show 👀
@gabecaruso627315 сағат бұрын
@@wheresmahat345 yeah but a big reason why people don’t go is because they can’t afford it. If big bands can do live concert shoots, then there’s no other reason why broadway plays can’t follow suit. It would give them MORE money because more people would be able to access it
