What I loved about this movie is that I could smell Christian’s Bale by looking at him. He smelled like motor oil, sweat, and tobacco. It makes me sad that my dad moved on and I didn’t get to watch this with him. He would have loved it.

I worked in the oilfield pushing crews building tank batteries and laying pipelines and did a lot of work for two oil companies in particular in East Texas, Hopewell and Shelby. Shelby had bought them and given one to each of his sons. He was a genius…an artist in building fast cars, but the sons…lol

@ the son that owned Hopewell Oil was only seen once a year. He would have a couple of acres planted in sugar cane and when it was time to harvest instead of picking up some cheap farm labor he hired us to cut down the sugar cane with machetes and stack it under a tarp by an antique cane press he had bought. Then HE would come down after a few weeks to cook syrup and have us feed the cane through the machine, and helped with all the other jarring crap. So we figured up just what he paid for our crew in the process($28 hr/me, $18/hr for the 4 guys in crew) for 3 days and it has to be the most expensive batch of syrup in the world that he made just to give to his buddies lol.

But it was a good drama movie, but it was dissappointing for me, yknow i expected like an adrenaline rush kind of racing sequences, like the one in Rush 2013. Something was lacking. The movie kinda wasn't able to show why le mans is considered toughest race. It showed the hurdles Shelby and ken faced to reach the top stage. Some dialogues were great. But something lacked yknow pace and fastness it lacked

I'm not an engineer but if your building a car that's expected to hold together of 3000 miles while pushing it's limits and at 7000+ rpm. you better keep the car simple. Not complex

it's great to see the different dimensions. Both worth the journey to Mars:). About the team it's shocking to them he's just broke his own lap record. Ant muuuuch more intimately - to his son, he's achieved what he's been preaching about - the perfect lap. I love this piece of art, never underestimate these two - Mr Bale and Mr Damon.
