I’ve been playing since 1977. Tried to learn Aerosmith and Ted Nugent. Then Eddie came out in 1978. I wish I could nail those solos like you. I still play almost every day. Attention deficit keeps me from unlocking those solos. I’ll watch your videos again and try to glean something off them. Great playing!!

"Marshall JMP-1 MIDI preamp with a separate power amp..." I always wanted one of those along with the 9200 Dual Monobloc power amp. And right under them? A Mesa Traxis and a 90:90 power amp, all with a Dual Recto to round it out. And the 5150, naturally. :) Mid gain Marshall tones seem really difficult for software and solid state to emulate well. Once you get into Tube Screamered boosted JCM800/900 territory it seems easier to dial in. Those 50s-70s vintage mids and the musical way they break up can be really complex.

I'm also a huge fan of those 2 albums and Campbell's playing on them! I recently got up a vinyl player again after abandoned that format in the ninties. And I happen to have this albums since the eighties. One thing I react to when listen to vinyl compared to spotify for example, is that I sit and listen to the FULL album, not skipping any songs which is too easy when listening at digital medias. Of course all songs on these albums are great, but some are lower rated than the most known ones. But even in the songs some may skip, or not put in their playlist also have 10/10 solos! Viv absolutely gived 100% on ALL songs! I never liked Def L. so don't tell me he does great solos there too because I wont listen on that ear 😉

I have the same exact model from ''99, been playing it for 15 years. I had no idea about the trick at 7:08, that you can add brightness and gain by turning up the volume on channel one when you're only plugged into channel 2 without a jumper! I tried it and it works- thanks Angus! I'm still learning stuff about this amp and I love it--

Sounds amazing dude!🤘😮💨🎸just curious is this setup running reverb>delay>amp? I’ve always ran it the other way around but this sounds so good!
@AngusClarkGTRАй бұрын
Thanks! Yes, in this demo the reverb and delay are before the amp. They are after the Tumnus, LPD87, and Zvex Channel 2, so the reverb and delay are “post gain”.

What is making that Slow Gear type of pumping effect in the demo section? I don't see any block engaged for it. Is it maybe your video recorder audio overloading that's causing it? It's actually a really cool effect.
@AngusClarkGTRАй бұрын
The audio during the demo is recorded directly into logic, so it’s not from a video source. I don’t think I know what you mean by “slow gear pumping effect”. I don’t hear it.

@@AngusClarkGTR It's the next day now and I don't hear it anymore either. It must have been some bizarre behavior in my sound system yesterday. It was from 9:23 onwards. Sounds completely normal today. Killer tone, by the way. What's that made of?

@@AngusClarkGTR What a great tone. Your expression pedal - is that something you carefully picked from the herd, or is it what you have always used so you have stayed with it? So many Fractal users seem to go for the Mission Engineering stuff and you have sidestepped that.
@AngusClarkGTRАй бұрын
@elbowjames7625 I got it because it’s smaller - it fits on the board. I think the Lehle pedals may be a similar size but I wasn’t aware of them when I put this together so I never checked the dimensions.

Thanks for that! Nice to see someone of your status confirms my workflow, more or less. I use a Boss FS6 (altough I hate the fact it needs a battery) and another little switch to activate a boost if needed. I tried a MIDI Captain for more options, but that pedal is too big. Will get me one of thos 3 buttons switches you talk about. My only gripe is that programming the FM3 via the unit is a nightmare, I always carry my Macbook with me. Are you comfortable just using the unit? Cheers! Pat
