Mold, mold, mold. These houses sit empty with no one using the water. Move in and Bammmmm. Leaking drain pipes, leaking shower, tub...everything.

My last house in Ohio had a big yard with lots of trees. That was a terrible idea. Fall cleanup was miserable and I had more bugs than down here in Georgia. We ended up paying thousands of dollars to remove most of them. Now we have a smaller back yard with no trees and I love it.

I live in South Augusta just above Hephzibah off Mike Padgett Hwy. I moved here Feb 2024 because of lower rent prices on townhome. Big mistake. Even though it’s only a 25 min drive to stores like Costco and Publix, everything is spread apart. It takes me 4-5 hours to run errands on Saturday compared to the 2 hours in Columbia, SC (I lived off Devine near Forest Acres). I regret moving here and miss my small apartment in Columbia. I was 5 minutes away from wonderful restaurants and stores like Whole Foods, World Market, and Target. The stores here are very disorganized and not as well stocked as Columbia. And I used to think the stores in Columbia weren’t as well stocked and organized. I was so wrong. The people here in GA are very nice but I can’t wait to move. There are better place with better infrastructure and just better well run. I feel like food quality is not as good here. There’s no Whole Foods or specialty stores like World Market. There have been 2 shootings at the mall here. There’s a lot of poverty. I have been chased down in the parking lot of Lowes. I never go out alone because I’ve been asked for money countless of times by men. I know it’s sad but makes me feel uncomfortable. This city doesn’t offer a lot to do either. I lived in FL my entire life (Miami, Orlando, and other big cities) and the community in Augusta is a disorganized hot mess. With this recent hurricane, Helene, Georgia Power is estimating power back October 5. When I lived in Winter Park, FL, Hurricane Irma caused horrible devastation and I had power back in less than 24 hours. I’ve never been days without power like this. And poor and slow response time from local government. The governor of GA looks like he hates his job. The local news recently put out an article saying the community “isn’t listening” when it comes to staying home. They reported the path of the hurricane incorrectly and people did not prepare to be without power for 1-2 weeks. How can you blame them for going out to Costco and Publix to buy and stock up on food for their children. If a lease didn’t “own me” and could wreck my credit I would pick up and leave right now. Please do yourself a favor and don’t move here. Edit: forgot to also include that there is a straight up garbage smell once a week becuase of all the factories and nuclear power plan. It comes in through my bathroom vent and closet attic door and smells horrible. Google it, a lot of Reddit’s about the horrible smell of Augusta.

I am from Florida. This growth is amazing and I am still trying to understand what everyone is talking about in regard to traffic. I never found myself fighting traffic as people say. Grovetown is a great place with a lot of growth and future potential.

Augusta traffic is nothing compared to Savannah. I grew up in the AUG and this place (Sav) is stupid concerning traffic. Its terrible. I used to live off bel-air (5 mins from the mall) and the traffic there was bad compared to other places but nothing compared to Savannah traffic. And the bugs? Oh my gawd, the bugs and humidity is much worse here. Allergies? I never had allergies until I moved to Savannah. I think the nasty parasitic Spanish Moss might be to blame.

I love Grovetown quiet compared to Evans ga and a lot cheaper too!! House wise. Also love the HS we have options. There is no traffic here compared to Evans. But I live off wrightboro rd

I used to be a cop in Augusta. I can give you plenty of reasons not to move to Augusta. Sorry and understaffed sheriff’s office, corrupt local politicians, If you’re a small business trying to win contracts you gotta be part of the “clique” in order to stand a chance(gotta know somebody), full of gangs, unruly juveniles running the streets, no comedy club, did I mention there’s always a shooting like the shooting downtown the other day with thousands of people hanging out?, and the terrible roads with all the potholes will tear up your car just to name a few. If you want to move to the augusta area move to COLUMBIA COUNTY! Stay out of RICHMOND COUNTY! Your families lives will be I. Constant danger, and you will have to put your kid in private school to keep them safe and not dumb, because the Richmond county board of education is just as bad as the commissioners. There are plenty of articles online that will show you how corrupt they are.

We loved Grovetown, but the traffic holds you hostage, it can take you 30 minutes to go 1 mile, depending on if someone lets you in line as you change roads. Augusta is 15 minutes away with no traffic, but it can take 2 hours with traffic, and that is why we moved out of GA.

well no with all the people moving here Augusta traffic getting worst around three in the afternoon it is pack until 7:00 it’s like yeah we got a lil slower pace of life but it is becoming more congested all around Augusta especially now on the interstates
