Nope that turbulence creates more drag lol
@ChroniclesofKToyoda
@ChroniclesofKToyoda 3 ай бұрын
Toyota engineers IIRC did say it was to reduce drag because the rear shape is actually even worse without it due to more separation due to the steep drop It gives the air somewhere to attach back to and the low pressure over the engine bay isn't really drag because it is isolated rather than pulled along That was the explanation on the original MR2 anyway, it probably applies to a lesser extent to these generation ones, but I've seen the point proven on sedans which also use this trick to float a pocket of air at the rear glass in exchange of then reducing the larger source of drag AKA turbulent flow behind the actual car

Is this with just the Carbahn stage 1 performance controller which is a box that will be installed under the hood of the car AKA their piggy back controller? Or did you have to have the DME shipped out for an unlock and then mapped with the carbahn stage 1 DME unlock map?

Is the data secret ? What was the base cD ? What was the cD with each modification ? What was the cD with all modifications attached ? So you increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the car as well ? Was this by removing the spoilers and wings that were causing the drag ? Where is the data ? - Thanks

@pd5041 I bought an isf two months ago. Was driving a 350 for the past 4 years and 250 for another 2 years before that. Currently have the 350 as daily and f as weekend. You will instantly feel the additional power once you are at highway speed. 60mph+. Before that, two cars feel the same. 350 has aggressive gearing on 1st and 2nd, so you barely feel any difference pulling from a stop. Other than that, transmission is much faster, but still slower than any modern dual clutch or even some single clutch at). Being a 8spd I'm avging only 1-2mpg lower on highway compare to the 350. car feels much heavier in front. It's a slower car than 350 on canyon roads because of that. Handling is much better compare to 350, but nothing bmw alike. I'm a true lover of the 2is look and a die hard lexus fan boy, otherwise, your money is better spent on something else.

Nice run! Does that thing have electric power steering?? I see the big servo/motor next to the column. Had no idea that MR2's had that until I just looked it up.
@TimMatijow
@TimMatijow Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's electric powersteering. It's not factory though. This is from a Saturn vue which uses an electric motor in the column. . The factory mr2 stuff is an electric-hydraulic pump that pumps fluid like a normal powersteering rack.
@FelverFelv
@FelverFelv Жыл бұрын
@@TimMatijow that's super cool! How did you get it to work? I totally get engine swaps and whatnot but electric power steering seems more difficult unless it's pretty much plug and play or it has its own control unit
@TimMatijow
@TimMatijow Жыл бұрын
@@FelverFelv it has its own ecu. Just hook up power and ground and a switch to turn it on. The assist is adjustable with a knob that fakes a speed signal to the ecu. It's turned down as low as it can go. You just have to make a custom steering column to fit it
