I have been thinking about cleaning mine up also. This is the first I have seen on here. Currently swapping in a Dana 44 and making that all shine. Beautiful car also. Love the green

Cheers Scott. I was a bit sceptical about taking the ECU cover off. It doesn't look hard but it's something I simply don't want to mess with. Definitely worth polishing. Regarding the diff centre, I haven't touched it yet....but I've filed down all the "Cast edges" on the suspension arms (front & rear), sanded and polished then all up to a mirror finish. I recommend changing all bushers (SuperPro) before polishing. Cheers ;-)

OMG!!! You are a GD genius!!! My dash vents come on after about 10 minutes of driving sometimes they stay at the windshield. I bet this is the reason!
@have-a-go10 күн бұрын
Sounds like a vacuum problem if the vent reverts to blowing on the windshield at times. If it randomly comes on, then it's the buttons as well. It's a bit of a mission to fix but it's not hard work if you follow my vid. Let us know if you have a go at fixing. Cheers ;-)

Did the installation of the Dynamat make a marked improvement? Was it worth the time/money/effort?
@have-a-goАй бұрын
Sh1t ya. I know this car is a convertible but the heat, road & body noise has been reduced dramatically. I also updated the stock exhaust to be more noisier & once completed, a cabin "Drone" at around 2200 revs was noticeable at certain times. I believed this was through vibrating panels. The Dynamat stopped that noise 100%. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Thx Scott. I'm not the worlds greatest editor regarding videos, but you've gotta start somewhere lol. I did a whole heap of repairs last year like clutch, suspension, brushing, even polishing the suspension arms etc. Wish I'd thought of documenting them all back then....but I did taken some pic's so I maybe able to edit them one day. These videos are there to share my journey with this magnificent beast of a car, & to share my experiences with bring this car back to a showroom condition. I love doing tasteful modification that bring this car up to today's specs & make it better an awsum driving experience. Glad you enjoyed it ;-)

Thanks for the comments Larry. Yes the music maybe a little on the loud side......but just like wine, I'm getting better at doing these videos with age. Cheers ;-)

I can’t tell a difference. Does it sound much better and louder in person? Was thinking of doing the same modification but not worth it if it’s a negligible difference.
@Steve-Martin4 ай бұрын
Yes. Hell of a difference. People can you coming now. It's a deeper, throatier sound.
@blazano74874 ай бұрын
Good to know. Did you only replace the mufflers or did you also do other modifications to the exhaust?
@have-a-go3 ай бұрын
@@blazano7487 I just replaced the mufflers & put the old original exhaust tips back on. I would have liked to have removed the "Cats" on my Vet but it's a 1996 and it has 4 sensors on & around them, so I don't want to trip an computer errors. The new deeper sound is very noticeable. When you replace the exhaust mufflers in a C4 Corvette to louder ones, it will created "Droning" in the car due to it's fibreglass body. I found it happened around cruising speeds of around 1800 revs when going up hills.......so I completely removed the seats & carpet& "Dynamated" (soundproofed) out my whole interior floor body and now, the car drive's like a limo inside due to the reduction of the vibrating body, road & tyre noises. It also reduced the temperature inside the cabin my easily half. It's not that hard to do & I totally recommend doing it for all C4 car owners. Here's a video I did that may help you accomplish this task should you decide to tackle it. Cheers. -----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3q0onR_bbqDhK8si=39IXmnoETqTlOymg

Hi Steve, the red 1978 mustang is actually a 1970 ford mustang sportsroof.

Awesome video. Extremely helpful. I may have missed it, but where do you plan to put the tweeters? Next to the crossovers?
@have-a-go7 ай бұрын
Thank for the reply. I'm glad you found this vid helpful, FN57. The TWEETERS I put in the dash. Take a look at this video, which is the final one on this interior upgrade there I show you ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqral6Sce8StiK8 Please note this car has been converted to RHS, right-hand-side (Australia) so this would be obviously different to LHS Corvettes, but you could still do something similar but maybe put the Tweeter on the LHS in the top of the top card. You could put them in the top corners of your dash also but that's a bigger job. I should also say that I recently lined those boxes with "Dynamat" to add more bass. I figured those boxes won't be coming out (if ever) for a long time so I buried them with the stuff. I basically filled in all the gaps.

Did you consider putting 6-1/2" subwoofers instead of the coaxials? Are you going to add a subwoofer?
@have-a-go7 ай бұрын
Hi Don. No, I never consider the subwoofers. There isn't much space in the back of these "Convertibles" so to lose some with a sub was outa the question. I was mainly after a head unit that had today's technology like Bluetooth & cameras....especially reverse. But while we're on the topic of "Bass", the Alpine amplifier I used supplies massive amounts of power & after insulating the rear speaker boxes & replacing the old ones with new ones, the base levels are huge. So much so that a subwoofer is not needed imo & I'm more than happy with the outcome. It sounds killer. Cheers ;-)
