you probably won't go into the town centre so don't worry about that, have a look at the other videos that I've done, lot's of them are in the countryside, may I wish you all the best on your test.

Ar the double roundabout, do you use the indicator also or just maintain lane discipline only?

Thanks for watching.. on the approach you would need to indicate to the right to the B4579 you could cancel the indication once you have joined the 1st roundabout, {mirrors play a big part on roundabouts like this one} I would indicate left to leave the 1st roundabout to take the 2nd roundabout... you are correct lane discipline must be maintained at all times...always remember other drivers are not just at the front of you they are at the back and could be at the side of you.. either left or right and on some roundabouts in big cities both sides.

Not too sure, not been up to Chester for a while now, if you have a look at some other videos you may find other routes around the area, always be aware of the details, like mirrors, signal, manoeuvre....lane discipline, remember your blind spot check before moving off, when stopping remember to cancel the left signal.... it's things like that you have to be aware of.

In my opinion that was a brilliant idea and great thinking, there are double solid white lines down the middle of the road and the cyclist is doing less than 10mph so legally you can overtake the cyclist but you can’t overtake them because you can’t see around the bend and by the time you can see clearly and safely get around the cyclist you’re at the roundabout so it makes sense to go all the way around the roundabout and by the time you reach your required exit the cyclist is out of the way.

Thank you for your feedback, I covered this in my standards check a few years ago, I believe that if you are teaching someone to drive you should cover the what if's on lessons and show them how to respond to situations other that relying on luck... in other words nothing came up to challenge them so they would just be lucky and pass...thank you for watching my videos.

Sorry but would you do that as an experienced driving? You would either overtake quickly or stay behind the cyclist until after the roundabout so as not have to go all the way around. I would suggest "awareness planning" fault as per DL25 all day long

Thank you for your feedback, this was a novice driver that came across this situation, we covered a lot of what if's on lessons...they remembered when I was explaining about a different test a couple of years ago when a candidate was on test and there were about twenty odd cyclists going down the bypass approaching a roundabout, there were gaps between the cyclists... the examiner asked them to turn left at the roundabout.. trouble being the cyclists.. so they indicated right so they stayed clear of the cyclists and went around the roundabout.. the cyclists were then approaching the roundabout and they were the ones who had to give way to the right at the roundabout...I covered this particular topic on my standards check a few years ago...there are uses to this tactic and what's important is that it is safe and legal....thank you for taking the time to watch my video.

No, you could just turn up on your own, make sure you have your driving licence with you and that you have a suitable car to take your test in...must display L plates and interior mirror for the examiners use. Best of luck

I passed my Test back in October 2023 in Shrewsbury with the help of your Videos. However I've given up on driving completely because a month after I got my 1st car someone crashed into it as it was parked on my drive and its still going through the insurance to this day. Back to trusty bicycle but keep up the good content.

it said bus lane suspended use both lanes, he avoids it for a long while, isn't this a fail?

Thank you for taking a look, yes it was a fail, that wasn't the only thing that they failed on....use of mirrors, and moving off safely were some of the other things...I only put this video up for the pupil and his father to have a look at... they retook the test on the 13th of May and that was a pass, thank you for taking the time to look and comment.

Thank you for your feedback, I've always said that passing a driving test means nothing, it just means you may have been lucky and had a good run through and nothing came up to challenge you.

I have to admit that watching that last one, I got caught out by the two lanes suddenly opening up, and the taxi pulled up pretty close in front (because of box junction). Our driver was left with very little time - even at ten-odd mph - to safely decide which lane was required. I'd have probably gone around again, and made sure I got into the correct lane for my exit. But I've had more experience about having a 'plan B' in place than a learner would. So while I understand why it has to be a fail, I've got some sympathy for them.

That's the skill of driving I'm afraid. You've always got to try and anticipate what's happening ahead, to be honest this could have caught the best of us out.

Thanks for your question, the lane that she should have used was the left hand one..however both lanes go the same way, so the examiner would be checking to see if she was checking the left hand door mirror, she did so that was ok, it would have not ended well if she didn't check. Hope thats been of assistance.

Unless that van driver could somehow have seen over the brow of the hill way before his overtake, no it is not safe at all. He could've waited about 10 more seconds and then overtaken legally and safely and more easily on the downhill stretch.
