“Bright Star!!” This band rocks in a badass, 70’s era style In that, they have dialed into a singular sound, Unique and unto themselves. The magic of music for true artistical purpose is finding and working towards one’s own perspective Who wants to waste an effort of years simply to repeat what’s already been heard?? Yes, be inspired by what’s came before- But always press towards uniqueness that separates you as an artist!! Otherwise, you’re just a copy.

08:20 I never understood the self-hatred of middle class white hipsters. They *so badly* wanted punk rock to become this multiracial cultural movement amd it was always by and for disaffected suburban kids.

"It's got absolutely nothing to do with style [of music]. Either it's good or it's not." - On this we differ. It has EVERYTHING to do with style in the first instance; and beyond that, either it's good or it's not. -T.C. Mutant Pop

Lightning Bolt at the Ark - Gainesville, Florida. 0648am 19.8.22 not bein' a dude i could, strangely, comprehend THE DUDES talkin' beer and cheap offers to induce you to get that beer.. to, in turn, induce you to go see LIGHTNING BOLT... sounds a decent trade off. unlike the usual trade off. i go to see lightning bolt. come home to find someone has stolen something from my home and then have someone steal the money from my account it cost to pay for the item. it's a fanny old world. everyone smiles at lightning bolt gigs and i am surmising that's due to them not knowing any dance moves to this kindda racket!!!!? pogo yer way out of it. that's what people used to do back int he 70's, man... p.s i missed lightning bolt play manchester 2022. my ticket lies in the bottom of my ruck sack... how so - it was smart phone app only ticket? not so people... fawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwk!!!!!!

It's kind of funny, 12 years ago it was a "dying art", but it made a comeback. Today, vinyl record sales are bigger than CD sales. (In 2022.)

When I was at Cal in the late 70's I liked the punk trio "Sudden Fun." They had a great drummer, if I remember right his name was Dennis Ritchie. Saw someone there say that Sudden Fun was like Cain to The Rubinoos Abel.

Of course narrow-minded people won’t change the world - in the long term. They wanna be rich and not necessarily important. And today that is more true than ever as money rules over everything.

Fuck those flags.
@dirttaq2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s significant to make sure flags are represented correctly from a historical perspective, but regardless, both flags represented white supremacy and you can’t argue otherwise. “Neo nazis took this flag and ran with it” - that’s sort of irrelevant in most conversations. Blood was shed to ensure this country preserved the institution of slavery and white supremacy and in that regard, the south won. Black people are still navigating the fallout from 400 years of brutal slavery and racism. If you were about to get shot, no one is going to care which gun it’s with. All that aside, I saw avail a couple days ago in North Carolina. I think they rule and Tim has probably changed a lot over the past 20 years, as has society. There’s probably a lot of nuance even to his opinions back then that we don’t get to hear. I was happy to hear him talking about the gentrification of the neighborhoods, I think he’s a good guy who clearly cares about his community and others.

Saw Avail at the VFW on Bardstown Rd Louisville KY 1997?1998?. Great show. I believe Snapcase played and I apologize for not remembering who else. I think Scott Ricter's from Sunspring/Metroschifter brother's band played as well(mouthfull). Love Avail and I'm a history buff too Tim. I think geographically we grew up similar. Ohio River rat here. Peace. Come play Louisville soon.
