Gracias, papá! Alguna vez me dijiste que la escala mayor es suficiente para casi todo, y esta no es la excepción. Es el modo "Dorian" de la escala mayor. Es la de blues mas dos notas. El sonido tan característico está en la progresión de acordes + tocar esas dos notas intencionalmente. Simplemente toma la escala menor y mueve la 6ta un tono arriba 🤯

Nice… just stumbled onto your videos .. I have an R8 also that’s just crazy good .. I keep going back to it after comparing everything against it. Just curious what made you decide on this after the R9 you had a few years back?

Hey Lex, I hope you enjoyed what you saw! Congrats on your R8 - Gibson Custom has been making very good guitars. So, I went to Chicago Music Exchange and I was determined to buy an R9 with a Carmelita neck. I played that R9 and it was amazing, the top was really good, the sound was great, the neck was comfortable, all good. But then I stepped outside the playing booth and I asked the salesman if there was anything remarkable to see, and he grabbed this one. This (Tom Murphy) R8 has a less beautiful top than the R9, was used and more expensive, but man, it feels perfect in my hands. There are a few reasons for that: - It's super lightweight (and I love that) - It's acoustically loud and snappy - The neck is PERFECT - Fat enough to make contact with the palm of my hand but narrow enough to be able to fret strings with my thumb - Very important (to me): the nut width is very narrow, around 41mm - I have smaller hands, and the neck/nut width combination is ideal - The sustain is long and beautiful That's my story! I wanted an R9 and thought R8s had unplayable baseball necks, but I left with this beauty, and I think I'll keep it forever. Oh BTW, I didn't want to part ways with my R9, but I was traveling the world for a while and sold it. I regretted it so much. I don't anymore, though; this R8 is what I always wanted in a Les Paul.

Nice! I was never a Les Paul guy until I found mine .. they are completely different to the regular USA line…I think most people think the R8 neck is going to be huge and uncomfortable and the R9 is the best to go for but I much prefer the R8 neck. Only trouble is finding an SG that I like .. someday!
