To be fair to the anti-immigration fanatics, crime did increase dramatically when undocumented Europeans started coming here around 500 years ago. Europeans committed genocide on the native population and turned so much of this land into a literal pigsty. Send Europeans back first. Kidding, but really ... FUN FACT: It is not possible for immigration to take jobs away. Just like with domestic birth, more people, means more consumers, which means even more jobs. Streamlined visas would cost a tiny fraction of ineffective (and cruel) border enforcement. Way more taxes can be collected from noncitizens to cover adaptation costs for indigents. At best, border obsession is fiscally irresponsible. Also, the people against immigration, are the same people who are obsessed with domestic population growth. Fascist or racist? You decide. Drug trafficking is primarily the fault of the GOP. Smart countries already know the best way to help addicts is decriminalization with more treatment. We already know that prohibition only creates organized crime and has no effect on supply. It is Republicans who primarily block decriminalization reforms. Money wasted on migrant whack-a-mole could go toward treatment. For every dollar given to help a poor desperate indigent immigrant, the government collects over 50 dollars in revenue from working non-citizens. The claim that immigrants are costing citizens is a massive lie. Contrary to the moron majority, not everyone wants to come to the USA. If you are doing okay where you are, you don't want to move and learn a new language unless you are very young.

I’m 72, and I saw the MC5, and the Stooges a few times. I remember driving from NYC to Goose Lake, Michigan to see the Stooges. I have this whole album on my phone, and still play this song at least twice a day.

Well, truth be told, India is made up of so much tribal difference and is so far from a meritocracy that politicians are feeling forced to act in one of two ways: -- create solidarity on a nationalist level, which is clearly total folly because it's a big gaping lie. or -- try to appeal to all the differences and give real opportunity to everyone to create something progressive and different after putting our differences aside. BUT, to do that, the average person has to see themselves as more than just a consumption machine, and well, in the heavily stratified society that is late-stage capitalist Indian society.... Get back to shopping, and keep new and challenging ideas out of your minds. Good luck. You just hope that one day India won't have a billion people under its nationalist umbrella.

@@dees9478 you clearly see the Indian society with your little key hole. An average person in India isn't a consumer machine because the average person is struggling to make ends meet. The "tribal differences" you're talking about is of the similar nature as such differences in any other country. In India, we know it as casteism. And it's prevalent because the oppressors won't make things right and keep up that bullshit going, always adjusting and evolving as long as they get to keep the power and leave the rest in dirt. And that connects directly to your idiotic idea of "meritocracy". When you have centuries of discrimination and oppression, which directly translates to the generational privilege for one group against the other, there's no real "merit". And the only thing politicians are forced to do is fill each of their holes with as much corporate blood money as they can get which has come from the generation of exploitation of the most vulnerable. You "truth" is at best, naive half-arsed delusion and at worst, a deliberate ignorance.

What’s crazy is I worked in a really popular restaurant/cafe, and the amount of parents who complained about how boring their kids are because they’re always on their phone and never want to leave the house and get into any trouble. These were kind of strait laced people saying that. “We used to want bikes as teenagers to get away from our parents and staying home was a punishment. Now you can’t get them to leave the fucking house on a weekend!” Just thought I would share this insight
