Thank you. So very helpful and I have pure ink envy. I never thought about putting them in colour order 🤦🏻♀️ I have just put them in the tins as they came in the packets.

This was so helpful. I am a complete beginner starting from scratch. I have been overwhelmed by what’s available haha so many wonderful things. I only have my dining table and a few shelves, I think this would be ideal for me. ❤

Hi Sharon, I’m a new year and just purchased a big shot. Thankyou so much for your video which explained the process so much more easily than any other site I’ve looked at. Hi, I have just come across your channel. What a blessing that was 😊 I am completely new to crafting. Never in my life have tried anything like this. But at the beautiful age of 46 and with five nearly grown children, I have decided to become an adult colourist and crafter haha I have been searching and reviewing cutting machines and accessories for a while and got totally overwhelmed. You have helped massively. This machine is in my Amazon birthday wish list. Please can I also ask about your glass crafting mat. I have the black one added but have seen a new white one! Would you prefer the black or white crafting area? There are so many things available. I would just like a few decent bits and bobs to get me started as I normally (as the saying goes) buy cheap, buy twice and I’m learning not to do that. ❤

I’ve been wanting to get one of these and couldn’t decide which machine l should get and then saw that there was a plus big shot, and now I have decided to just get the big shot. I think that will work great for me. I think all of the information that you gave was wonderful, the little tips like spraying your paper before you use the deeper embossing piece, being careful to not use thicker off brand dies in the machine, were above & beyond helpful 😊. The big shot is the best of all cutting machines. Wish they would make more of the bigs steel dies. Can’t beat them.

Hi Sharon, Yay! I’ve found you 😊. This video was very useful as you are correct it is overwhelming. I am looking for a a5 manual die cutting machine and you have helped me to decide. 😊 I have been crafting for a while and as you know we do end up with more than one machine 😀. I do have some thicker dies and therefore have shortlisted the brands that they will fit through so thank you for helping me decide…… and for not being biased 😉

I just purchased this machine and have read all the directions, but cannot get it to work. The pads, etc will not go through. I am trying to emboss using the large platform and the two clear plastic pads with the embossing folder and paper between them. Any ideas?

If it’s a 3D embossing folder you just need one clear plate, not both. You just need the platform, then the folder and then one clear plate on top.

Yes totally normal, that’s what they’re for. Eventually you will need to replace them but they last a very long time

Looks great but I don't get how inking the labels like that is less messy than inking before you attach them 🤔 and i wasn't sure how clear the labels looked after covering with the ink 🤔

Hi I have an old long sizzix machine with the number 1 and 2 off eBay. I can’t get them through? Are you supposed to use both clear plates with the die inbetween or one plate? It’s too thick with both? Help please. 😊

Why does my machine make a awful Crack sound when using the A thin adapter for the thin die cut. Thanks. P.s I'm new to this

It is normal for it to sometimes make that sound, but if you make sure you angle your die slightly as you run it through (particularly if it's something with a straight edge like a rectangle shape), you will find it goes through more smoothly.

Sharon, thank you for the comparison between both tools. I live in the US and I looking at the Lisa’s tool, but it’s a scoring board and stenciling. It doesn’t say that it can be used as a stamping tool. I own various stamping tools and one of them is the Tim Holts stamping board and it has the hinges similar to my Misti. I know that Tim Holts had to remove his stamping board until the court decided what could be done. It is currently one of the most used. Hero Arts has his own Misti stamping tool and so on. I strongly think that Lisa’s tool would be a great buy if one can stamp with it too. Thank you for your demonstration. Puerto Rico

Hi Nina, yes this video was made when Lisa had just launched her Ulti-mate here in the UK. Since then she has brought out the Ulti-mate 2 which has a scoring board instead of the stamp platform. In the US you can only buy that version due to the issues around the MISTI, in the UK you can choose between the two.

A beginners' guide should always focus on the "why" (the function of an element) over the "how". Here, we have a "how" video - great if people are supposed to mindlessly copy a process but not so great if people are supposed to develop an understanding of the principles which can then serve as a basis for own experiments and improvements = real creativity. ... tell people about the function (rather than the description) of the respective component and they will remember it and also be able to trouble-shoot their process if problems arise.

Hi Sharon I am new to crafting and have luckily found your channel , can you please help I have bought a big shot and the dies are coming out lovely but I cannot emboss it just won’t run through the machine it’s as if it’s far too big and if I do force it through it feels like it will explode so I just stop I have followed you and know I am putting everything through correctly but cannot understand why it won’t emboss , please help thank you

make sure you have the correct sandwich (if it's a 3d embossing folder these are thicker so you only need the base platform, then the folder then just one clear plate on top). If that's what you're doing, then make sure your folder isn't too close to the front of the platform as it goes through the machine, and also angle it slightly so it's not all hitting the rollers at the same time.

Ich finde es soooo schade, dass man den Deckel nicht separat erhält! Ich hatte mir die Stempel- und Schablonenhilfe geholt, bevor das Tool mit dem Drehkreis au den Markt kam. Ich möchte mir nicht noch so eins holen müssen, wo doch die Deckel abnehmbar und miteinander kompatibel sind.

SO expensive!! Sent mine back as unable to turn handle no matter what I was advised to try. Also I found the instruction plates quite hard to understand . Shame.

@@soniawoodley7805 that is a shame. There’s a ton of great tutorials around and the Big Shot is probably the easiest die cutting machine to use once you get the hang of it.
