hello! I'm from Brazil and I'm looking for information about the drag race tree! Your project marks the start of the race and who arrived first? Would you sell me the electrical diagram with the used parts and a step-by-step guide on how to assemble it?

@heldereddy1388 the brains of it are the small tree. The big tree just duplicates what the small one is showing. It's a biondo final round 4 but check out Porta tree they have an eliminator tree that's top of the line as well as selling a full size tree pre made if you are interested.

That speed controller will let you use your long burrs without destroying them. The only grinder that will go full speed with long burrs is the smaller Makita. The part number escapes me. Those molds will help a lot. It took me 10 years before I started pouring molds....another 15 years later and my heads have always made power. The pushrod pinch tool is a great addition as well. Telescoping gauges are great to check your from port to port. They don't deflect as much as dividers. When you're figuring your throat size, I like to take a junk valve and turn it down to the desired diameter. I paint my seat and drop the valve in and scribe the diameter. Then you can drop the valve in to check your work. When the valve passes through you've reached your throat dimension. Happy grinding.

This is where the flow bench lies to you. Unshrouding that intake does nothing good for you. With that low flow gasket matching and widening the pinch point are counterproductive as well. Pitot tubes show you where material can come out.
@black_sheep_fab9411
@black_sheep_fab9411 Ай бұрын
@chrisstavro4698 please explain how deshrouding and increasing flow is counter productive? You belive a turbulent port that flows 30 cfm less would produce more horsepower than this?
@chrisstavro4698
@chrisstavro4698 Ай бұрын
@@black_sheep_fab9411 Getting rid of turbulence inside a port is a good thing. That wall that "hurts" low lift flow is there to increase swirl, which helps combustion, response, and fuel economy. That stuff doesn't show up on a dyno, but it's very obvious as soon as you start driving. If you can produce positive swirl at all lifts without it, go ahead and remove it. For the sake of argument, 20 cfm with the wall will make more power everywhere than 30 cfm without the wall.

Are there any stock distributors with adjustable rotors, adjustable caps, or adjustable advance plates/pick-ups? Are there any stock engines with crank triggers? In general there is no phasing adjustment on a stock engine.
@black_sheep_fab9411
@black_sheep_fab9411 Ай бұрын
@nicholasagnew2792 as far as stock distributors I'm not gonna say there aren't but I've never seen one. And with regards to crank triggers fuel injected cars all are but I've never seen a factory car with a distributor that triggered from the crank.
@nicholasagnew2792
@nicholasagnew2792 Ай бұрын
I can't believe how many people think that by adjusting your timing you are adjusting where the spark happens on the rotor. Without an adjustable rotor, an adjustable cap, or an adjustable breaker plate/electronic equivalent THERE IS NO ADJUSTING THE PHASING. Rotor phasing on a normal distributor is a term that describes the phasing change via the vacuum advance ONLY because the vacuum advance moves the breaker plate. You are so right! Mechanical advance had jack to to with phasing! Thank you!

Wow! That just filled in a lot of gaps for me! This is all the stuff I've been learningand absorbing, but I still couldn't quite get it arranged right in my head. Great breakdown! I've been working on one poor 906 for a while, testing, and experimenting. I've been stuck in the low 260'[email protected] this whole week, and banging my head against the wall trying to plan what to do on the next head. This pair is sacrificial, but I have another milled set of 906's to do and go on this 440 I'm building, as soon as I could get my ports closer to 300 cfm, and the airspeeds figured out. I also have more 906s,516s, 452s, aluminum Sidewinders ,plus small block closed chambered 920s, 915Js with both 3/8 and 11/32 valves, and a pair of Edelbrock 60779s that need some epoxy and a rework. Point being, I'm ready to get past this learning curve, and have some fun with this stuff. I also have a little SF-110, and an old B&D valve grinder, and looking towards getting some better valve seat gear. You can find me pretty easy by my KZbin handle which is also my page name. I'd love to talk about porting sometime! Thanks!! Ty

@@black_sheep_fab9411 Same here. I've been hacking away at this 906 SSR for a week or more. I'm stuck! Granted, this head has the factory valve and valve job, with just a 30° back cut, and a sloppy factory chamber, but I have a hard time believing that's where the other 40 cfm I'm looking for is hiding! I think most of it is under that lump! I've heard people say you can lay it waaay back, and take a bunch off, but a visual would really help for the shape. When I get it, I'm definitely making a mold.

One thing everybody, in order to accurately test for parasitic draw on today's vehicles you have to wait for the computers to go into "sleep" mode before you start checking or pulling fuses. The light surging bright can easily be a module- body control or 4wd in this case- powering back up after the fuse was replaced. Setup your test light or multimeter as shown and wait about 45min for all modules to go to sleep, then start checking

This is prety awesome. So the test light just jumps the Negative cable to the Negative post with it off/separated? I get what yiur saying about the reset/false readings after a while. I bought a really nice low milage 89' seven series bmw years ago from my neighbors cousins wife, the cousin passed away. Great car but had a parasitic draw of sorts. I had no idea how to figure it out. This would have been very helpful to get the car starting consistently again. I had dealt with engine electronics before obd and into obd, but i had no idea how to test body/chassis electronics then. Sure trouble shooting one circuit is easy. But finding out which one is hard. This helps. Great tip/video man

This was some good information that I appreciate, I’m going through my 302 castings right now. Charles Servedio worked a set of these 302’s at first for the mission impossible build and got 246 intake, and 196 on exhaust with a pipe both at .500 lift. After that he had to work a set of open chamber 675 castings to be “era correct.” It’s been pretty interesting to see what these will do.

I like your head porting and flow bench videos. I am playing with a set of chevy 416 heads. I know everyone says to ditch it and get a 350 but the little engine runs great! So I picked up 2 sets of 416 heads for 30 bucks and started applying Vizards, Darin Morgan, Weingartener, and Charlie Servidos principles to head porting. Out of the gate the heads flowed 198 and 141 so after porting I'm going to flow them again. I did bump up to a 1.9 valve and 1.5 budget performance valves I bought off my buddy. This is a learning experience for me so I'm not throwing a ton of money at them just trying to help out the little engine out. I did notice not a lot of people show how to port intake manifolds? They just show results. I would like to see you modify the head in stages and then maybe show the viewers your results. Keep up the good work!
