Contessina Bardi was not the mother of Lorenzo the magnificent. Contessina was the grandmother of Lorenzo il Magnifico. Lorenzo was son of Piero e Lucrezia de Medici.

@@valerianovak3409 Yes, that's correct. Did I say mother by accident? Apologies if so. I talk a lot about Lucrezia Tournabuoni in other Medici videos 😊

Wry weren't the Medici's just buried, I guess because tombs were the only way to seal out the slinkiness of the bodies or did they know how to embalm back then?
@theherstorychannel Жыл бұрын
Hey 👋 Great question! Tombs were an eternal display of wealth and status. The bigger & grander the tomb, the more wealthy/important you were seen to be. They did know how to embalm at that time. Though decomposition would still occur, I believe embalming helped keep the putrefaction at bay & made the whole process less icky! There was a belief at the time that saints didn't decompose, so religious people with wealth + status may have preferred to be buried in tombs as they were airtight; which meant the chance of a corpse dessicating/drying out instead of decomposing was higher. So if the tomb were opened/the body was disturbed or moved, they'd be more 'saintly looking' than the average corpse. I vaguely remember Caitlyn at @AskAMortician has done some videos about Saints that were very interesting! 😁

Elizabeth wasn’t Peter III mother she was his aunt his mother was Anner Elizabeth’s sister and Sophie learnt the language and the coulter of Russia in a 24 hour period and she had gotten influenza from staying up 24 hours Empress Elizabeth permitted Ekaterina to take a lover for she was still a verging after 6 years I think it was it wasn’t determined if Peter was Paul’s father for Peter couldn’t reproduce since the foreskin was to tight so they had to perform a operation and they had relations ounce after that happened when she realized she was pregnant and Paul was born Ekaterina lost one war out of 100 and she was going to free the surfs she couldn’t do it for she didn’t have the man power to hold them back she knew they would kill her so she didn’t do that and Ekaterina United Prussia with Russia she stripped that country bare she had to put Fredric back in his box and her mother Johanna was thrown out of Russia before Sophie and Peter had gotten married for she was spying for Fredric her cousin

i was on Ep3 S1 when i found out that the father's death is 100% fabricated, and to make it worse, they made HIS SON as the murderer?! smfh such a stupid and frustrating move from the Director/Writers, this lil fun fact ruined the show for me so i'm not even wasting my time watching the rest. I can understand some hollywood changes here n there for the sake of entertainment, but dont ruin the FOUNDATION of the storyline with something as significant with the father's death...smdh, Wack. - THANKS FOR CLARIFYING HISTORY FOR US lol
@theherstorychannel3 жыл бұрын
That fabrication kinda sets the tone for the rest of the show to come unfortunately 😕😂 They included so much unnecessary and untrue things for drama when the actual history of it is spicy enough as it is! They should have showed Cosimo as he really was, not all sweetness and light. He was actually pretty brutal and had to be to get to the position of power that he achieved. The 'holier than thou' portrayal of him did me in 🙄

@rishisaaptacha He did a pretty good job at gritty and complicated in the tv series 'The Bodyguard'. He's got good range as an actor that wasn't used to it's full potential here. But he sure was nice to look at 🌝🌝

I hope now, a year later, you've been able to start on the path of healing 💕 grief is the strangest, wildest land I've ever lived. 🤔 I'm starting to realize almost everyone around her died. Yikes There should be a quality, real documentary about her, sadly there are only short videos, and the movie Ammonite, which went way out of it's way to be ahistorical. Truth empowers people, they should of just made it historically accurate, it's a great real story anyway. kzbin.info/aero/PLgRoK-eyLjomaNEGNHjb1r8YWbUzVIskd

I haven't heard good things about Ammonite either sadly. Such a missed opportunity. I keep meaning to make a reaction video to the film. Mary definitely needs a bigger spotlight shone on her. A quality documentary would be an amazing start!
