Hey, are you still using it? Any issues?

It’s funny that you should ask that. The crossover for the passive speakers seems to have failed on the active subwoofer. We now use the subwoofer through the main desk out and feed some other behringer active mid-range speakers from the ‘control room outputs’. We need to look at getting it repaired at some point.

Hey chaps ( and Mrs Chap ) nice video. Been thinking about a few days in IOW . Do a bit of busking now and again so might try there. How did you get on generally ? Any problems ? Locals ok with it ? Many thanks 👍
@ScribbleVictory2 жыл бұрын
Hi Garry, thanks for the kind words. The great thing about IOW is that you don’t need a busking license. It was a scorching day, so even though the beach was busy, I’ve seen it busier. I think some people decided to stay in the shade. There was a local guy from the council tending to some flowers and we asked him if he had a problem with us setting up and playing, but he didn’t. Shanklin is a nice location and people tend to listen from the beach. We had packed down and were about to leave and some people chased us down to tell us that they enjoyed it and slipped us some money. Sandown or Ryde might be another good bet. The train is convenient if you wanted to try a few spots in a day too!

@@ScribbleVictory Hey thanks for getting back to me . It’s always good to get a bit of feedback from people who have the t shirt. No excuse not to do it now then !! I used to play a lot back in the day in various bands around the country but I’m a bit of a fossil now so late nights are about as appealing as a poke in the eye to be honest . A couple of hours busking in the sunshine though ... lovely 😎.

I'm watching your video for the 7th time now. Can't wait to take a listen to my soundsystem. Do you still think that it's a good systen?
@ScribbleVictory3 жыл бұрын
Oh absolutely! Pre-pandemic we used it 20+ times and it packs a punch in small, medium and large venues. We even use it for practice and we wouldn’t do without it. The sub isn’t ideal for tight stairs but there’s only one of them, so it’s easier than what we had before! Thanks for the views!

@@ScribbleVictory I have even used the sub in conjunction with my home cinema system and it works surprisingly well even at very low volume. I love this PA. Can't wait to get back out with it once this all calms down. My only criticism is that the paint should be a bit tougher really.

Ps you have a cool model. All the best. 18k Meledoean’s were made. 1st in Niagara Falls USA n sold in Buffalo New York. 1840-1860 by George A.Prince Co. Later came Boston, Massachusetts n New York City. Yours should have a patten #on it which will give you exact date made and if made in USA Co. Some were actually made in England also. Yours may be older than you think. All the best🌈👍☮️

Scribble Victory melodeon of that age have a split line all the way across the keyboard just under the black keys. The tips of every key is real ebony ivory. A solid key means the keys were replaced at some point with imitation ivory/plastic to look like ivory. I’d have it looked at. You can also google/KZbin this.

Awesome. What you have is a Mason & Hamlin Style 109 "Baby" organ. They have a great tone and I think you will enjoy it very much. I have two of the larger model, the Style 110, which has more keys. I have pictures of the full restoration here if you're interested. Mine also has the original treadle connector rods. reedorgans.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/122-year-old-baby-gets-a-restoration/

An update about mine. I've just had to change the neutrik sockets for the speaker outputs for genuine neutrik versions as the locking part is made of plastic on the ones fitted to the sub and speakers and it seems to wear out with normal use. The speaker connections then become unreliable and easy to disconnect with a slight touch as they no longer lock in place. Basically, my view now is to not bother with any non genuine neutrik connector of any kind as none are up to the job. The genuine versions have metal locking parts in the sockets and are in a different league. LD should have used these in the first place. I still love the system though and this is a very good upgrade.
