SharePoint Premium Advanced Management doesn't have any Site Level retention policy available. That would be more into Purview Retention policies!

can we purchase SAM only for admins, in our case 3 users , or will it need to purchase for all the users , kind of confusing there

Can I have a quick question regarding the licensing, you mentioned in the video that costs $3usd/user/month, let say there're more than 100,000 users in my organization, I will need to pay more than $300,000 USD/month to be able to use the SAM? Another example, if I just bought 1 license for 1 user, would I still see these SAM features on my SharePoint Admin Center? Thank you

Hello there! Ok so technically, if you buy 1 license for 1 user (your admin account) you will be able to use the features, but you will not be "ok" from a licensing perspective and you risk Microsoft coming in for an audit and asking you to backpay for all the time you used it with 1 license. . Microsoft says "To use SharePoint Advanced Management, you must have a license for each user in your organization. " - so you would need to pay the $300,000 monthly. Please also check with your Microsoft licensing specialist to get the most accurate details for your organization!

SharePoint is showing exactly what your admins allowed you to see. If users are being shown too much or too little this is because of poor administration/administrators and/or poor configuration and/or poor governance etc. Don’t blame SharePoint, SharePoint is just a tool. blame those who configure and manage it poorly (as always)

Hi Andy, in the sharepoint site properties I didn’t see the policy tab. Yes a am a global administrator. But on the default collaboration you could change the default global setting for sharepoint and one drive. Did you saved these setting in the save button down under on this page ? Is that the first step . Because now de file sharing option is still greyed out.

The email address is the only way to add an external member? Is this the reason I can't find my external members each time I try to add them just typing their name? Does the external member need to be a guest or member in Azure Ad.. Sorry Entra ID now... 😂

That was cool! Just wanted to know if this can search for a user from Outlook. Like can I lookup a user from the "other" organization while sending email from Outlook. I just type a few characters of his name and the email address is filled. Kind of GAL sync.

Does the same apply for government tenants? I invited a guest, applied the compliance admin role, and assigned office E3 with DLP but the guest was unable to configure our Exchange DLP because it didn't allow access. Just trying to gain more understanding..thanks for video on this confusing topic.

You can check inactive and enabled guests using access reviews related to teams groups and applications.

So from what i've seen in my organisation, if i understand well, when you allow only collaboration, you can't add eg a gmail address to a shared channel. Only if you allow also Direct connect, you can ad gmail addresses?

That is a really good webinar on Teams. Are any of these features impacted by the move to Teams Premium. I am ware that 4 current features are being taken out of the standard Teams. One includes the ability to translate during a meeting. It would be good to understand more about this new premium license.

Hi Andy, thanks really this helped for clear understanding. Like have your guidance related to this article. Having 2 tenants T1 and T2 cross tenant access is enabled between the 2. in each tenant we have security group assume T1SG , t2SG. Need to allow users of this security group members to access the SharePoint site or any other application. In this lab you explained adding user across tenant. How can i add groups across tenants instead of users.
