They are held in by little metal sring clips top and bottom. Just get two small flat blade screwdrivers and lever the switch out from the top and bottom. They will just pop out.

21 minutes in, and wondering if he's about to work out the easy way to get that pin out is push the piston up the bore a bit to take pressure of it - Then it'll just fall out...

I have a dry brake system since 8 weeks now, because I am renewing my radius arms and braided brake lines..I refilled the master cylinder last week but did not bleed the brakes because my work is not finished yet..do you think I have to care for the seals in the master cylinder or is it ok to keep it like that?
@AndyMarsh
@AndyMarsh 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, I think the seal should be fine, my worry would be rust on the metal surfaces. As long as the sysem is sealed and the car is kept dry I think it should be fine. Good luck with the redius arms, i'm doing a hi-lo conversion this weekend coming!

Technically there is 2 roads in and out of Peacehaven, as you can drive round the back of Peacehaven but it does connect on to the A259 either end. @11:53 if you had turned right, instead of left, that would have taken you to the Leisure centre and to Peacehaven Community School

I was adding grease to the suspension arm bearing. First clean the nipple, then pump in grease until you see the old grease coming out of the inner bearing seal.

I need to do this on my newly purchases MkV 1988 Mini. Are there different cylinder kits to figure out? Also, a good tip for Ultrasonic cleaners....no need to fill the tub with degreaser/cleaner. Just use water. Then place parts in a hard plastic/glass jar or even a zip lock baggie and put a much smaller amount of your cleaner solution in the container. Then put the container in the water and let her rip.....cleans just as well since the sonic pulses penetrate into the container just fine. Saves having to keep large volumes of potentially smelly cleaner and reduces waste build up.

@@AndyMarsh Having dismantled my cylinder I can see that the bore is near-perfect. No sign of any corrosion or scoring. So, I plan to buy a repair kit and get a bit more life out of it. Your video proved very useful for getting the cylinder apart - especially the bit about that steel pin holding the front seal assembly in place. I am restoring a 1992 Cooper SPi using a new Heritage shell but I don't want to replace everything if I can avoid it. The brakes were fine when the car was last used (about a year ago). The restoration is mostly about dealing with a rotten body. Thanks again.

Wow! that really is in great shape, I reckon you got a real bargain there! Love the SPQR remote, this car looks to have been someone's cherished little project, quite an enthusiast I suspect! White painted roof, sunroof, rev counter, sports steering wheel, fibreglass front and SPQR, all go faster goodies! What a great little resto if you can retain that spirit of the car. The bootlid is a later mk1 item, I have a late 67 with that type, the mk 2 had them as well. Was this car originally hydro? it's right on the changeover and I can see some of the hydro shell reinforcing gussets in the corners of the boot. I reckon I'm almost as excited about this one as you are Matt.... Awesome!

I have certainly considered it... however I'm not sure there is much of a market. Having said that, since making this video I refined my system somewhat and created my own special board with switches for weight classes and I/O for servo's, muzzle flash, servo recoil, sound triggers etc. It works pretty well and has been tested in few tanks. Drop me a PM if you want one.

Have you considered selling the Arduino systems? Makes more sense for stand alone modern brushless components and IR battle systems to be designed for modern computer radios, than others who continue to offer secondary control modules that are designed to offer mixing for outdated non computer radios
@AndyMarsh
@AndyMarsh 9 жыл бұрын
NFSS (No Frills Sound System) is a basic RC tank sound sound system of my own design. It was designed to improve the sound of RX18 / DBC equipped radio controlled tanks without adding whole extra layers of complexity. It is very simple to connect and use. Sound sets in windows wav format are stored on a micro SD card. It has a 2W power amplifier built in and uses the standard Heng Long speaker and volume control. If you want to add your own external power amplifier and speaker direct connection before the amplifier is included. The Heng Long volume control is kept in circuit so you can match the output from the NFSS to your amplifier. If you are interested in purchasing such a thing please feel free to drop me a line! The tank you see in the demonstration video is an SU-152, this one was based on the chassis of the Heng Long KV-1 with a custom made upper hull.

@AndyMarsh

+Toytinkers channel Thanks, it sounds rather better in real life... for some reason the microphone on my Mac sort of suppresses the engine sound as if it ware background noise. I'm not aiming for Benedini like quality here, the transitions from one sound to the next is a little sudden but for the price point I'm aiming at it should be a vast improvement over the HL engine and remove the need for a separate ELV or similar battle sound card.
