Only severely privileged people hate his methods, but here's the problem Vietnam, Afghanistan, iraq, etc.. are all just examples of the USA committing terr0r!sm especially vietnam so a person who really enjoyed basically invading a country for no reason and k*lling the people defending their homes is bound to need adjustments especially with today's educated society but yeah with criminals like the ones in marvel and DC the only way that is sane or works is the punisher's

Finally someone saying the Punisher actor from the movie is better punisher than Jon Bernthal. I always been saying that. The punisher is suppose to be tall, dark and caucausian man. Jon is dark yeah but he isnt tall.

I know I'm late, but when I read Jason Aaron's run on Punisher Max and at the same time saw how he completely demolished Frank in that recent run, I was baffled as to how this nigga could just switch like that. One of the best storylines next to Garth's to then doing a complete 180 like that. My brain just can't fully comprehend such a notion.

You probably wont read this, but I respecfully disagree for how as the punisher might srop after he thinks he was done with his vengance and try to go to normal for his family, but he would just have that itch (like he said in the court room scene) he is a man, a man with flaws and he likely wanted to get better, also I like bernthals punisher, so I am biased, but jane I think was the most punisher looking, bernthal was the most punisher esques as far as the fights went, just balls to the wall brutal, primal, and shputing, I have met a ton of marines and they said bernthal embodied that marine style of just violence

Garth Ennis' run on The Punisher is still the definitive version of Frank Castle, nobody has ever come even close to the literary depth Ennis achieved in that run, or has ever taken the character as seriously. The Aaron's PunisherMAX series you praise fundamentally misunderstood Frank Castle from the get-go - he made him an emotionally detached sociopath that was just destined to be The Punisher "because he liked killing", this came in complete contrast to Ennis' portrayal of Frank as an inherently tragic figure due to his humanity. Ennis' Punisher regularly suffered due to the deep awareness of what he had lost, his family and a peaceful life, and THAT is what motivates him to do what he does - so the people that take from others can't, in Frank's own words, "just walk away". Ennis' Punisher doesn't even kill low-level crooks, he always focuses on those that are actually commiting horrors. And yet a piece of love and humanity survives - he gives an old Russian veteran his favorite vodka brand straight from Russia, he completely ruins an US Special Forces operation just to save a little girl, he goes out of his way to contact a social worker to give victims of human traficking safe haven, etc. Punisher is not just some dude that kills, he is a force of nature that was once a normal man - there lies the tragedy. Echoes of that normality lingers, but its just small dots of light shining weakly over a dark veil of quiet pain and rage and a fatal sense of purpose.

For Two and a Half Men: It's worn out humor. It was funny back then, but the jokes are overused and low tier if you look at it from TODAYS perspective. The plot is still garbage but this was never the point. You could have focused on worse offenders. Like The Big Bang Theory which was never funny to begin with. Or the most obvious brain rot which you also had as a picture: WWE. But still: nope there's much more brainrot on KZbin, TikTok and Instagram. The main problem is that it is more accessible. In Germany we had a slang term called "Assi-TV" which basically means TV for the stupid. You can watch it ironically otherwise people would laugh at you. This is not the case anymore. Everyone watches trash Reels and it's totally accepted. Besides content has never been at a lower point. I quit most social media apps since content is getting more unfunny, more stale and more stupid. Just look at SnapChat: 90% people reading Reddit threads with AI voice while you are watching shitty MineCraft gameplay. Yes there was brain rot back then. But it's objectively worse now. There are plenty of reasons for this. You can analyze them if you want, but this was a very weak argument. Best of luck and congrats on your graduation.

Jon Bernthal is still the best Punisher in my opinion. I'm not judging you but there's a simple explanation for why they gave him the Wolverine treatment and made him chill. Simply put, they wanted to make him more likable. Yes he still enjoys killing people but thanks to other people in his life, they've showed him that it's over. But Netflix understands that a guy that kills people every day and enjoys it, isn't the best example of a hero and is hard to make likeable. Also, I defend Jon Bernthal's louder portrayal of the Punisher. With every hit he gives an opponent, it's also powered by pure rage and brutality. In the flashback scene of him fighting in Afghanistan I believe, it showed how even after he was tired out and got shot, he was still fighting because he was giving himself a natural adrenaline boost by yelling. I know it sounds odd but if you watch it again, it works.
@jackalsmalls4995
@jackalsmalls4995 3 ай бұрын
Trying to make him likable to the mainstream means diluting him, therefore, as you said "The Wolverine" treatment lead to his show being cancelled, why would i watch a powerless wolverine when I can just watch X-Men ffs, Instead of going that route they could show how he was a moral monster "There was always a darkness inside of him" but thanks to being raised right (mostly) it was kept in check and thats why when he snapped he EXCLUSIVELY went after scumbags and criminals, for peats sake there have been several cases where the Punisher has gotten in contact with cops and he took them down nonlethally. They could've showed him instead of hating violence and kept getting dragged into it, they could go into the psychology of a man who has a natural intense bloodlust, counteracted by his Nurturing and his love and duty for his family, basically the monster taking off its costume solemnly. They could've showed that this 'Monster' was happier killing in the war zone and found his family a bore, A Bore that he truly loved to the core but was also a bore, but the monster still decided to hang up its costume for them, he would give up the thing he enjoyed and revelled in for them. But no just go with the cliche "Hates violence but kept being pulled back into it...." Like that hasn't been done to death, and before you say it hasn't been done to death, then why did the show get cancelled.

The Punisher was a red hot item on the stands by the time we hit the later half of the 80s. Just too good I suppose. I Miss those days to a certain extent. It was all there. In tact. Before they chipped away at everything creating a system they thought could protect planet basketcase . Didnt work. Things worsened and continued to free fall. Thanks you 'My Little Pony' Pr##ks. Thanks for all the castration and mental house politicking while celebrating degeneration. Thanks for your reality denials and naivity. Were genitals and self esteem insecurity issues really worth all the major disruptions and venom? Dung beetles. They would rather march and chant instead of develope and strive for victory. But dont worry. Just look at the flakes and fake talent the big boys are passing out trophies to. Flaws are virtues dont you know?

The transformation of the Joker in 2018 when the movie came out was NO ACCIDENT. It was about blocking a particular influence that in its anger was making too much sense. Character assassination is a very feminine manouvre and usually comes from behind. Don't like what someone has to say and can't debate it? N.P. Head directly into character assassination. Humiliate. It doesn't support your point of view but oh well, it sure is effective. A den of geeks picked on in highschool become the abusers in their illusions of power behind the internet, masked in false sincerity of virtue signals. Some of the worst excuses for human beings out there.

Political and Social motivations CAN NOT be ignored in this case. Making America sick. Wt Libs think they know what is best for everybody else. They annoy even all the different groups and special status folks they virtue signal for. Big Pharma has the purple and blue hair by the throat RUINING EVERYTHING. Turning the communities into flip flop nut houses of whinings and meltdowns. They dont embrace diversity the way they claim. They are in reality, HIGHLY intolerant.

It's sad in a way because Punisher was the antithesis of heroes. Someone who was willing to get his hands dirty so people didn't have to sink into his world. And now they've abandoned his morals and made him just as bad as the villains. But that just makes people gravitate towards series like The Boys.

@natevari2509 If we are completely honest, the Punisher had a lot of people involved in his creation, including Stan Lee who came up with the name Punisher. Gerry Conway wanted a generic Death Wish/Mac Bolland style vigilante. JRSR came up with the design. But ultimately it was later writers who came up with his real name, backstory, personality, and mythos.
