good, btw watching a 360 vid, they look even easier guy Seth is just spinning, less ground is covered than in the 180. It’s weird he does say looking is important, it’s hard to tell if he is & actually looks like he is looking the opposite way of his rotation, it’s really momentum whipping his head. he makes em look p easy & hopping onto picnic tables too, then he’ll case a low deck.

a lot of people say to look over the shoulders on 180/360 but they're not super complex rotations that you would. These are more explosive movements. You hear that on how to flair. "use your head" but its a simple drop of the shoulder that does it

Grass is good at killing momentum if it's available. Planting both feet works in an emergency but it hurts the toes if you're going fast.

As a 30+ y.o. who rode for 15 years and now has a laundry list of back injuries, wish someone made a video diving into this when I was young and I took it seriously specifically for injury prevention. Any younger dudes watching this, the health benefits from taking this seriously will far surpass the riding skill youll aquire from it. Riding in super deep flexion and rounded out shoulders for over a decade, took a massive toll on my body and live in pretty much a constant state of pain. Been trying to get back into bmx lately and trying to relearn how to ride with neutral posture and a proper hip hinge is quiteeeee difficult, though todays geo of tall bars and short rear ends certainly helps.

Being able to muscle the hop is a lot of the trick. Technique helps, but strength is definitely key. That 180 was fire
@billy_bikes
@billy_bikes Ай бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out bro! A lot of people think because its bmx that it isnt cycling and exercise isnt a key component of this stuff. Had some guy saying he tried a whole year and another guy saying strength had nothing to do with it. I'm like well it might lol. To some it may be the technique aspect but for a lot of beginners I think its a strength thing, unless they come from some kinda other back ground like say mma, there isnt an mma fighter that is legit that lacks the strength to bhop
@JohnDuthie
@JohnDuthie Ай бұрын
@@billy_bikes haha definitely, bunny hopping is a technique but high hops come with strength built over time. I used to love impressing my friends hopping up the biggest thing possible. It definitely didn’t come over night. Mike Tyson doesn’t knock people out with just technique. Broc Railford, Ty Morrow, Bradd Simms are all jacked. Working a lot has made me realize how much harder it is to ride when I’ve been lazy for a few months.

Riding is a lot like driving a car, you dont really wanna pay too much mind to where you are looking (in the vehicle), you want to look around. I thought you were commenting on a rotation video, but this applies for everything. You wanna look around like a rotation you may look downward to spot the landing, on a tailwhip as you kick it over a jump you may look down quick to spot the pedal, for fakie you know in a car you turn around and look side to side to spot any obstacles its like that on a bike, so for the barspins you wanna be looking around as you compress and as you explode and throw, you may quickly glance to spot the bars to catch but you also wanna look forwards to spot the landing as its coming. Its like driving because you constantly have to be processing what is happening when you drive similarly to riding, if you are hoping onto rails you need to look at the rail to process height of rail and how much to hop then as you land you may be looking down to see how much you are leaning into the grind then at the ground to judge how far back to lean back to land manual, then you are looking at where to take it and what is occurring around you

I think you should focus on posture/hop. I've been riding a lot of switch foot lately and when I'll rotate I'll notice foot slippage and not implementing the tuck. I can rotate both ways reg foot and almost both ways oppo foot. But I think my videos/ website blogs on posture and how to hop will help you. If you learn correct posture and snap it correctly the feet should be secure to the pedals with tension in the legs, because you are compressing the weight into the pedal and as you explode your pulling the bike upward so the pedals should be compressed into your feet throughout
