I will admit I found this song from the Mario Maker video, but the vibe I get from this fits that context wonderfully. It starts out tense, but become mystical as the level continues on with the player still overcoming each challenge. Random thought: Beast Needle from Mario Maker is like Junko from Touhou. You expect the most difficult things to be fast and flashy, but instead you get basic designs, extreme precision, and nail-biting tension.

Mario Maker is a video game that lets you make Mario levels for people to play. There are two of them, and Mario Maker 1 will be going permanently offline in a couple weeks. Many levels are ridiculously brutal and quite a few were never beaten even once, and there's been a concentrated effort to beat them all at least once. One participant posted a video of them clearing a particularly difficult level and used this track in the video.

The second I heard this in the Beast Needle completion (from KingBoo as part of Team 0% in Mario Maker), I thought it must be from Touhou, but it also didn't seem like a mainline song. Turns out, I was right, and it's a Touhou fan song. Either way, very cool!

Definitely a massively underrated song given that I, like many others, came via KingBoo's amazing clear video. Safe to say he has very good taste. I'll have to give the rest of this OST a listen. These Touhou fan projects know what they're doing.

I knew it had to be a touhou song. Hadn't heard it before, but the style is so recognizable. Glad to see everyone else also heard it in that Mario Maker video and thought "oh I hope he put that in the description, that was a banger!"
