@scoobin3362 ай бұрын
as an artist- even using the most basic pens- every line you draw, every word you write goes straight through the page and is clearly visible on the other side. the paper is absolutely garbage, and the price for such paper is absolutely ludicrous
@r.mtz.95012 ай бұрын
Honestly yeah, it's crazy how much they charge. Usually if I want a thicker paper, I just go for Paperage, which is at 100 GSM. Much cheaper!

Totally agree with you. Most important about writing is a reliable ink/pen. I really love a gel pen. However, it doesn’t work on this book.

@jeannysamiramahasindry48332 ай бұрын
Man! Finally someone who dare tell the sad truth on how awkward is the writing experience on these notebooks. For me the biggest no-no is how hard it is to correct small mistakes: you need to deploy an entire arsenal (towel + water) for a tiny mistake, and this at the risk of erasing what’s around. For this I shelved mine because it has no use for me. Now I use the pen that comes with the rocktebook to write on a moleskine and the writing experience is far better! I can use the builtin eraser without worrying about damaging the sheets. To scan the notes there are many apps to do that on the stores. Personally I use the free version of camscanner and it’s more than enough.
@r.mtz.95012 ай бұрын
I know some people use a small spray bottle and towel for smaller mistakes. But even then, I do not think that it worth the hassle lol I liked the idea, though, that scanning something can easily go to multiple spots with the Rocketbook but yeah there are other alternatives anyways. Thank you for the comment!

On youtube, there is a video comparing the "rocketbook wave vs core" or alike - maybe the wave suits you better, as the paper is less shiny, less smudges with the pen... but it is erasebble with microwafe, not with towel... i did not get it jet, so i can''t jet tell from own experiance...
@r.mtz.95015 ай бұрын
Interesting! I did not know that. I wonder why they decided to make those key differences. Thank u for ur comment!
@JohnQDoe-ut3jj5 ай бұрын
Totally agree. I’ve had my RocketBook for almost a year and it’s only been a fair investment. The ink is the major problem. It’s too faint and you have to erase it within 30 days. The ink smudges terribly and is almost invisible. The pens need to have a much wider nib - not just fine and extra fine.
@r.mtz.95015 ай бұрын
I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this way! If the ink was just better, I would have loved this product. The erasing became a real chore for me. Thanks for the comment and stay tuned for more because I am going to make more stationary videos!

Well done! Did you choose your books before the challenge, or read them as they came along? I average 70-80 per year. Some I don’t care to finish and THAT gives me anxiety because does it count towards a book being read, or am I giving up too soon…? 😂

Thank you for the comment! Honestly, I choose the books as they come along, just to go along with whatever mood I am in or whatever I find interesting at the time. Content is the most important thing; not the packaging bro. If you want an aesthetic look then buy leather-bound sets with gold inlays. These are paperback editions and are susceptible dog-earing and the odd spatter of spaghetti sauce periodically. If the white cover banding doesn't line up then too bad; or does it diminish the story-line and your respect for the author? Penguin changed their look: accept it. Worse things happen at sea, so they say!
@r.mtz.9501 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if this is meant to sound heated, but it does. And I dont know why it would be. obviously the content matters the most. just wanted to talk about the cover change specifically, because I thought it was interesting that it changed.

@@r.mtz.9501 No offence intended but I'm more concerned about 'woke' movements seeking to censor the availability of whole books or redact huge swathes of 'the written word' in an attempt to curb free speech. Already there have been instances of schools and universities et al that have removed books from their curriculums because they were deemed potentially offensive to certain societal groups. Keeping the heritage of classical literature alive is, to me at least, far more important than the aestheticism of a cover jacket. Regards, and happy reading!

After Recieving The Space Q45 And 6 Plus Hours A B Testing Against My Life Q35 I Had To Conceid The Sound Victory To The Life Q35 With It's Slightly More Impactful Sound . They Both Have Very Enjoyable Sound With All Media Types But The Q45 Has A Different Sound Profile Out Of The Box Than The Q35s . I Listened Wired Passively And Also With The LDAC Bluetooth Codec And The Q35 Had The More Impactful Sound . The ANC Nod Clearly Goes To The Space Q45 . The Q45 Are Noticably Heavier With Thinner Head Padding Where The Q35 Are Noticably Lighter With Thicker Head Padding So Comfort Goes To The Life Q35 .

i was ENRAGED when i noticed the change !! the worst thing (imo) is the removal of the orange circle around the penguin and the orange coloured font of the authors name which made them stick out on the spine. they seem to be going for a more minimalist vibe which is not fitting for a (penguin) Classic!

The old covers were nicer. Too nice for their own good! That cover design was so successful that it has been copied continuously. This became a problem because so much book buying is done online. It could be hard, when you were looking at a tiny cover picture, to know if you were buying a genuine Penguin edition or some fly by night edition with a cloned cover. It is easier to tell that it is a real Penguin edition, even in a small picture , with the thicker line and more prominent logo, along with the different lettering. It was strictly a marketing decision to protect the brand.
@r.mtz.95012 жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense! Hopefully other companies don't start copying this new design too lol
@harryhart78002 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of the font change and the color change of the author's names. The old, as you know, had that nice orange color to it while the new ones are replaced with something bland. The font I also have an issue. The old ones with the font had a more vintage feel to it while the newer ones are also replaced with a bland font much like the color. The only thing I do like is the one you mentioned about the line separating the author and the title. Wish the newer ones retained some orange to it.
@r.mtz.95012 жыл бұрын
Yeah, u make some good points about the look being bland now. I, more than anything, just hope that they do not keep changing them too often. I like consistency so that it looks nice on my bookshelf lol
@hayaadil14792 жыл бұрын
I agree with the part about the bigger band with the penguin messing up the uniformity aspect of it. I just ordered Crime and Punishment and it arrived with the new cover, now I'm trying to make sure all the other Dostoyevsky novels I get are also with the new cover so they line up, which is kind of annoying... I would still say I'm not entirely opposed to the change because I do like the bigger band with the penguin etc, just wished they still kept some of the orange :(
@r.mtz.95012 жыл бұрын
I know right! I don't see why they had to change the band so much :/ I didn't think about ordering new editions for specific books that I liked, but I might have to do the same, it is what is I guess
