So few things. 1. As I was editing the video, I learned Mr Director Eizo Yamagiwa died due to sepsis last month (28th November). I now feel kinda sad I didn't include this fact in the video. 2. Editing this was a copy right nightmare. So I just gave up, and unless my appeal comes through, all money from this goes to Tsubaraya. 3. As I was editing, I didn't notice that Dan's not beliving that Santa is Father of Ultra, can be a symbolism of some "beliving in Santa story", but I didn't understand that when I was writing the script.

Thank goodness I managed to find the Unite Warriors versions of all but Menasor. I don’t often switch combiner limbs between teams, but I like to have the option, on top of simply switching arms and legs so easily! Seeing this new skeleton and its integration into Silverbolt, I’ll be skipping this new Superion. The only exception I’ll take is Menasor, and I came up with a little bit of headcanon to make it make sense, at least for my collection: Devastator was the first, and he was one of if not the biggest threat the Decepticons could throw onto the battlefield. It would take miracles and incredulous effort to have a chance at taking him down. However, when it was learned that the ‘Cons were putting together a new combiner, Autobot espionage managed to get in and secure that data for themselves. And so eventually, the ‘Cons would enable the Combaticons to deploy Bruticus, soon after followed and up against that of Superion and Defensor. The Decepticons quickly learned of a bit of a hole in their strategy: Devastator, as incredible of a force as he was, could only do so much if the Constructicons were off working on a project. If they were attacked on sight, sure they could fight back with Devastator. But if a combiner’s force was required elsewhere, and if Bruticus in all his combined wit and strength ended up against both Superion and Defensor, it would be a rather hard-fought 2-on-1 at best. And if the Autobots were able to put together more combiner teams, it would not end well. Thusly, the Decepticons began looking to put a third combiner together, and quickly found potential in the rag-tag berserkers of the Stunticons (which for the sake of this concept, includes more ‘Cons than the original 5, like Crasher and Knockout). A combiner made of them would surely make for a strong berserker on the battlefield in lieu of Devastator, and if alongside Devastator would make for spectacular and destructive results. However, a problem: no ‘Con in their right mind wanted or would want to stay merged with the likes of Motormaster. He kept the rough and rowdy Stunticons in line, yes. But his methods of doing so lent to the Stunticons being more afraid of _him_ decimating their bodies than of simply defeat or failure to the Decepticon cause. They just could not remain linked together for any effective amount of time. So it was that Shockwave fashioned a solution: a skeleton that would form the base limbs of this new combiner and more effectively lock the Stunticons together as a gestalt. Motormaster would haul it as a trailer, and while he could use the skeleton itself as a form of “super/berserk mode”, only when fully combined could Menasor’s true unbridled power let loose.
@thunderstudent22 күн бұрын
Thank you for saying this! Also I prefer the limb bots to actually form the limbs instead of just being plugged onto a skeleton that forms 80% of the robot. Which is why I love the CW to Legacy adapter set that someone put out, since it lets you use Combiner Wars limb bots on the Legacy torso.

Wow what an amazing video, bravo! Not only did it give me a new perspective on the recent and upcoming combiner toys, but also on Combiners as a concept in general. Now I'm actually sad we don't get more of combiner teams interchanging. Makes me think how fitting of a name "gestalt" is for them too. Definitely has great potential for character writing and it seems that everyone is sleeping on it (even fanfiction writers)!
@TheAxelandx123 күн бұрын
For Menasor and Superior, I don't mind it at all, because their source material literally is a blocky frame with vehicles strapped onto them so the figures are doing exactly what they should be doing. Now if it's for someone like Bruticus, Defensor or Devastator than yeah I'd say that's a problem, as their individual components are far better integrated in the character models. However... This Sunbow faithfulness does worry me a little cos there's no way they can possibly design Onslaught to literally switch colors from Dark Blue and military green to a crisp silver without using a pair of silver combiner overalls. Even so... It doesn't upset me that much, my combiner wars Bruticus is in a sorry state, those figures aged like milk. While combiner wars did good retaining the magic and playability... I'd rather take stability and accuracy
@dialNforNinja23 күн бұрын
While the mix anbd match aspect does make for an interesting concept and play pattern, the skeleton+accessorybots model does have one thing going for it: sturdy and mobile articulation. When the most prominent fiction never did anything significant with the potentional combination explosion of tailoring who joins in a particular gestalt and the expectaions of modern fans in terms of proportions and poseability of robot modes from WFCx and Legacy, goign back tp the gawky, bartely-satands-there of even Combiner Wars let alone G1's dumpy little bricks is just a sound business decision, though at the same time just needing to fit onto a skeleton should make having all limb bots compatible with all limb positions dead simple if they'd cared to try, but of the Stunticons only the legs can swap, and then it's probably because corporate mandated they be absolutely minimal remolds rather than two different cars. There's not much info on the Aerialbots yet, but despite having the very bad sign of keeping the stupid ugly needlessly complciated spring loaded legs door panels, I suppose it's possible they ,ight have ,anaged to give all the limbots a detachable waist so they can be assembled any which way? I just hope they get back around to doing a Seacons set again soon-ish; I mused out on both the normal and white versions before they went out of retail channels and the prices lasted off into space.

Humanity creates robots named selectors. Selectors gain sentience. Selectors see humans as oppresors who enslaved them. Selectors team up with Decepticons, since Megatron is reminded of how Quintessons subjugated Cybertron. Autobots fight them, but they later agree. Autobots and Decepticons wan't humanity to surrender. During combat Carly got hurt, this causes Dinobots to be angry and go fight Autobots and Decepticons.

I could care less about parts forming skeletons. They can easily be made to turn into stands for flight mode or posing helpers. I care about the dwindling size of figures where the price doesn't reflect the smaller size. Keep raving about tiny little Dr Wu and Magic Square figures and paying $75 for a core class bots. When you show companies you WILL pay more for less guess what they ALL start doing? Sure they look awesome, but is a figure barely 4 inches tall REALLY worth $75? Get ready to start paying $50 for deluxe class figures from Hasbro. Lol

I love combiner wars simply cuz you can MAKE your OWN combiners. You could mix scattershot with smokescreen, prowl, streetwise and air raid to make a new combiner, or mix inferno with trailbreaker, fireflight/firefly, afterburner/afterbreaker and first aid. I have the CW constructicons, and g2 stunticons and I love both. Yeah sure people say menasor is trash and he is a bit hard to animate, but at least he can scramble. I might get legacy menasor so I can get a G1 set of stunticons. For the aerialbots, I'm trying to get a KO of superion, get a blast off and repaint him into a Slingshot/Quick Slinger, and get the new ones so they can rival Legacy menasor. Oh and I will get those ss86 contructicons so that there is an even scale among the combiners.

Main thing they are pointing out is that how they removed the original personality and purpose of the combiners as they are meant to mix and match together. I’m with you that the fun of combiners is the interchangeability of the limbs, but the point of this new combiners is accuracy to G1, plus this frame skeletons it makes the combiners much more Posable and sturdy than their combiner wars counterparts. I don’t mind this, for as much as I love combiner wars there’s always a chance of one tumbling down, I have to be careful with the posing. A combiner is still a combiner for me and if I want my interchangeability for the limbs, I still got my combiner wars collection Also hasbro is not the only ones guilty of making combiners like this, 3rd party companies have been doing the same for way longer, where were you whenever new 3rd party stunticons got announced? somehow it’s fine when a 3rd party company does this but not when hasbro doing this?

I 100% agree, hence why I’m slowly buying a few of MMC’s G1 Combiner team members. There’s no Partsforming (except for guns, obviously) and the two they have are magnificent. All the individual figures are solid MP Scale versions of the character with near perfect accuracy in all 3 modes. The main con is that they aren’t full Scramble combinable. With their Defensor and Bruticus, the arms can swap but not the rest. My favourite part of Combiners is that they actually combine, and slapping a bunch of guys onto a skeleton just ruins a lot of the fun and cool engineering in my opinion.

My main problem isnt specifically the skeleton system ( if they do it on the other combiners ill be pissed) my problem is that you end up with a leaderish scale figure for the torso bot and tiny little deluxe limb bots when they are supposed to be about the same height and mass when there really shouldnt be an excuse since unlike in cw the core bot isnt do any of the work anyway its some partsforming piece of crap that does all the heavy lifting.
