Rik is a great guitar player and because he was(still) a super humble guy, sad but true, he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. In my opinion, HE is the best guitar player alive today. Love them!!!

Wasn’t a huge fan of Triumph back in the day as I was more into progressive rock. I was very fortunate to have worked in the music business & a lot of my very close friends were musicians. And it came a time when one of those very close musician friends had me work on Mike Levines house while him & his family were on holidays. Then going forward from there became very good friends with the Mike his wife Rosie & their son Matt. I’m very greatful to my friends Phil & absolutely love Mike, Rosie & Matt. Underated band. Always hear about Rush when it comes to canada. Too bad Rik and the guys couldnt settle their differences and continue to make great music. Does sound like record company demands destroyed the bands creativity.

Allied Forces is such a great album. I see good balance between Mike and Gil's preferred style (Allied Forces, Fool for Your Love, Hot Time) and Rik's style (Magic Power, Petite Etude, Fight the Good Fight). Say Goodbye and Ordinary Man are so different yet they definitely sound like Triumph. What a masterpiece!

My biggest problem with a lot of heavy metal bands is not so much they dwell on the occult, as much as it is just BORING to do so! There's only so many songs one can write about Satan, darkness, etc--I mean, it just gets OLD. How about refreshing lyrics for a change? Triumph made music that kicked ass, but their lyrics were different, dealt with real life, and positive
